Scanning the dutch language forums, I've managed to get some updates on injuries.

Vertonghen, Davids and Leonardo are out until the new year.
Maduro is training with the group and likely to play this weekend.
vdWiel will likely be available for the Dec 8 fixture.
Gabri is out for this weekend; likely back for the Dec 8 fixture.

Does that mean they are BACK after New Years? I thought Davids and Leonardo would be out for far longer than that... Man, it would be nice to have them back...

My understanding is that they are pretty close, but the medical staff are taking a "better safe than sorry" approach.

You mean Vermaelen and not Vertonghen re injuries.
Bad news Gabri and Vd Weil miss Sunday hope Maduro will be ok.

We have one spare defender Colin !!!

Midfield will be down to Maduro Schilder De Jong with Kennedy possibly being used. Only spare midfielders fit are Donald and VdHeijden so we really are down to the bare bones at the moment.

Forgot K-Dehli. I think he really is in the basement at present. He has been injured but back in the reseves but would imagine he will go in January.

I am posting this here rather than trawl through to Ajax Cape Town

Evidently a 16 year old midfielder called Daylon Claasen is on trial at Espanyol and will move on to PSV for a trial . He has already trialed at Real Madrid and Anderlect.

Question. Why is this young man not here on trial as he comes from Ajax CT.

Given that we have got very little out of this African team why are we still bothering with them. Pienaar, Moekona briefly , and now Stanton Lewis
are all we have to show and now I read one of the young talents is trialing with another Dutch team.

Does anyone know why we are not trialing this kid( it may be we already have and dont rate him! )

Todays headlines states that the young SA Claasen is trialing with us now.
That answers my main question from the posting of the other day.

Looks like Ajax is going to sign a partnership agreement with some team in china....Ajax New Sponsor AEGON seems to be behind this.....dont know what to think

It's all about money I think. I just do not believe that any player from CHina could be Ajax-material. But it's always nice to have a few mln euro from marketing (shirts, maybe TV transmissions etc.).

Urby was a great player, till HTC came to Ajax. I assume he will play well again soon.

I wonder if Urby didn't begin to believe his own press, sort of like Nigel de Jong did.

In any event, he needs to get better quickly.
