A wanking right back? Should fit in nicely with the rest of a defense which has been largely been a group of goal allowing wankers for several years.

No they say Heerenveen wanted 18M for him and Ajax and Heerenveen are currently closing the deal.

Asking price 18M so Ajax will pay maybe 14 or 15.

That's a lot of money.

Yeah it is, 14-15 sounds more reasonable, but still high. He's a good player and I'd love to have him. I think that's really indicitive of the transfer market these days. We pay 15 million and then hope to make 5-10 million selling him to a bigger club in 2 years.

I hope he can be a worthy addition, I was quite impressed with him this season.

18m Euros is alot of money as it is now £14m . A year ago that was £12m which did not sound as bad.

Apparently Dos Santos from Barcelona is rated around 8 million. Ajax should look esle where, or give youth a chance. Not being in the CL, money cant be relaxed over.

2-the guy has already had manU and chelsea sniffing around... aka we will make our money back in a couple seasons

3-CL or not, we still sold about 60M euros worth of players last season

I agree with Bluedaddy. It's only a bad purchase if there's any chance that we won't get our money back with interest when we sell him, or that his presence won't lead us to more lucrative competitions (i.e. the Champions League).

I'm not all that worried about it.

Sounds like they are saying the transfer is not likely as why would he move to another Dutch club who are also playing in the UEFA Cup.

Also says, due to this reason he might as well continue to develop at Heerenveen.

It's a Heerenveen director saying that a transfer of Suljemani to Ajax is unlikely, because he can develop his skills just as well at Heerenveen as at Ajax, and "Ajax are only playing in the UEFA cup just like we are".

If your read between the lines Kuipers is saying that Heerenveen doesn't have to sell Sulejmani, and they will only sell him if the money is good.

Van Geel is history, Danny Blind is now in charge of signing players.

Heh, i get the point. Eitherway, be it Blind or Van Geel, so far nobody has been able to buy us some decent players (defenders).

And Blind doesn't exactly inspire faith based on his personnel moves as Ajax manager. Hopefully Marco's making the decisions and Danny's rubber-stamping them.
