Sometimes you'd really recommend players to read this forum before they leave...
"Hate to say I told you so", Klaas...

Well we all told him, but would he listen? No. Eigen schult dikke bult.
Basket-case club, Real Madrid.
Rumour has it that Juande Ramos will be out the Madrid door come summertime, so maybe the new coach will be more sympathetic.

Is this crap true anyway? I mean, if it's as reliable as all the rumours that sent him to Arsenal, Manchester, Milan, and so on...

Sort of wondered if that would be the case since I thought it was Schuster that really wanted him, but he was gone and Ramos there before the start of the 2nd half of the season. I bet the money's nice, though.

Does anyone actually think that Ajax were going to turn down a $30 million offer for him? How much choice did he have? The club would have been stupid not to sell him.

Huntelaar has just scored his first goal for Madrid away at Sporting Gijon which is where i believe Jurgen Colin went, though he is not playing. Well done KJH!

There's a lad at Malaga who is banging goals in on a regular basis, four in recent games. Might be something for Ajax, who knows.
Albert Luque - his name is...

for some reason GolTV lost the feed for the Oranje Madrid - Espanyol match and were showing FIFA Mundial. There was a nice 15 minute clip on Marc Overmars, his career and current play with Go Ahead Eagles. He said near the end that he would like one more call up with the NT and that his biggest regret was not getting 100 caps. In addition to playing he is running a plumbing company in his home town.

Maybe Ajax can hire Overmars to plumb the crap out of Ajax and build a club that will win the Erediivsie.

interesting article. It does seem that english clubs like the Arsenal are trying to pinch our 15 year olds and we have a very good u16 team at present so hope we can keep hold of the talent.

Guillem Balague on ‘Revista de la Liga’ said yesterday that coaching sources inside Real Madrid have told him that Klaas-jan Huntelaar’s time in Madrid could be quite short.
They don’t feel that he’s quite good enough for R.M. despite his recent run of goals, which have been against some of the worst defenses in La Liga. Also, K-j doesn’t get on with Snyder, van der Vaart and (particularly) Arjen Robben, despite recent ‘clear the air’ discussions.
He's seen very much as a short-term stop-gap solution to Real's problems, and though they feel that he can help win La Liga this season, once van Nistlerooij is back and David Villa has been bought in the summer, K-J will be free to leave.

Unless your name is Raul, you basically have no guaranteed future at Madrid.
Look at Drenthe and Van der Vaart. If you don't play well for as short as a minute, you're out.
Klaas is doing well, but indeed he isn't exactly dismantling Barcelona. With Ruud back next season, Raul, Higuain, Soldado, Saviola probably to be sold and replaced by another striker, Klaas' chances seem low.
I won't be surprised if a number of players, including Klaas and VdV leave, but that is just sad for football

Raul stays until they have to carry him off the pitch. RVN will come back from injury next season and if fit will be the first choice in the middle. A lot will depend on whether C. Ronaldo transfers from ManU. if that happens there will be a real house cleaning to free up funds to pay him. given the current economic realities, Madrid may not make as much from these "fire" sales as they would hope. I can't see them with enough funds to bring in both David Villa and Ronaldo but then they can alway cook the books as they have done in the past.
I felt all along that Madrid was the wrong team for KJH and I see nothing to change that view at present. I hope he continues to have a good remainder of the season and will find a better club next year.

Well, hopefully with songs like this, he can stay around Madrid a bit longer:

lol, very strange! The tune itself is quite cool I thought and almost Buzzcocks like or similar but the singing is like a very bad drunken kareoke (Sp?) combo
