Needless to say, JOB was cool as punch, really nice to the boys. He's going to college again, playing some occasional soccer just for fun, and doing some charitable work for Soccer Without Borders. In all, a great day, and once again I have to say... JOB is first class.
Damn. Great for them (and you no doubt).

Was this a coincidence? Did you arrange it? Did he remember you?

Jim, Great stuff. Thank you for sharing the details and the pic. I hope JOB will enter the youth coaching ranks at some point. His personality is perfect.

Looks like we can say goodbye to Hunter this winter. Real are supposed to sign him in winter transfer window.

We have an Andy van der Meyde sighting. In fact, you can't miss him. He is as bald as Dr. Evil. The good doctor came on for Everton with about eight minutes to go .

Not only did he come on but he did quite well crosing some good corners in for Everton. Everton tied the match in injury time with a wonderful strike only to concede a goal 30 seconds later. One of the best finishes of any match I've seen this year.

Have to agree. Heartbreak for Everton, but an incredible finish. Ashley Young definitely must be in Fabio Capello's selection. Great pace and great shot.

How did Howard play?

How did Howard play?
I saw two of the Aston Villa goals and neither was his fault. Friedel had an outstanding match saving two tough shots.

Don't recall Tim Howard having any amazing fingertips to the ball to push it against the bar stops like Friedel , but he was blameless on any of the goals. First goal, 34 seconds in, was a blast by Sidwell. Second goal was a Jagielka HOWLER of the year candidate. That back pass was horrendous. Howard never had a chance to get there and Ashley Young's speed was the difference to him getting on to the ball. Shot was almost, almost , a formality. Third goal was Lescott losing the plot only 20 seconds after tying the match. Young inside outted him. Lescott's ankle is still on the pitch.

Um, is this really something that might happen? Babel on loan in January?

Good / bad idea? We need goalscorers...

i'll take anyone up front that can score some goals...Babel fits perfectly, dont think it will happen...but would not be upset if it became true.

I think Rafa already said a few days ago he won't be loaning out Babel anywhere. I don't see the story as anything more than Babel wanting to play more and being dissatisfied with Benitez's rotation policy, but he's too good for them to let him leave.

I turned on FSC tonight and , lo and behold, there's Edgar Davids playing for an Oceania select XI v. the L. A. Galaxy and Posh Spice/David Beckham. Edje still looked in great shape.

I'd love to see him in MLS.

I don't see that happening, given the bad blood between him and our current coach.

It would also seem to run counter to the club's current "youngward" trend, the emergency acquisition of Vonk notwithstanding.

watching Arsenal Liverpool Babel comes on for 20 mins and justs drifts around in midfield. He took the money but they are wasting his career.

Babels crosses were woeful yesterday. His pace was great, but other than running at players, his talents seem wasted.
Watching RM, though it pains me to do so, because Klaas - Jan and Wesley are on from the start .

Yeah, I saw a bit of that too - round at my in-laws - but KJH missed a sitter, straight at the keeper. Not sure that was typical as I only saw 10 minutes or so but gave me a sort of inward groan....

I thought KJH looked pretty good for someone who is not match fit yet. He also has to adjust to the system. Also, he did not get much service the whole time he was on. Can't believe that 2 of my favorite players (KJH and Wesley) are on Real now.

He should've lifted his shot rather than placing it, but I thought he looked pretty good for a guy playing his first match after injury and with a new club at that. Several of his touches belied his lack of match fitness. His quickness also looked pretty good.

I even watched some of Real game as I too number Wes and KJH as 2 of my favourite Ajax players. Cannot say I like Real but at least Wes and KJH did not join ManU.
