Two is not enough, and we will have two next season, because Hans Vonk's contract won't be extended. That will leave us with Stekelenburg and Kenneth Vermeer. We very obviously do need a third goalie.

If that's a joke, it's not very funny.

Even if Vonk wasn't leaving I would still prefer Gentenaar over Vonk any day. Gentenaar is more than 4 years younger and a better goalkeeper.

So does this mean that we will not buy any right back???? Grygera has played on the right and Stam has played a couple of games on the right with Milan too.
Or those this mean bye bye Zdenek???? X'C

Who is making the decisions regards new players?? Is it Blind, if so what happens if he is sacked and a new guy takes over?? If it is Blind then the Board must have faith in him??

This is an interesting question, I asked it myself too. I would say that both Blind and van Geel take this kind of decision...

I know Vonk is leaving, but is Gentenaar any better than him? Of course he is a bit younger, and playing for BSV sounds okey. Can't say I've seen him play, so is he potential number 1?

I don't think that signing a new goalkeeper for zip means we won't be buying a new rightback. ;)

And about Grygera, I suspect he'll leave.

He's definitely a potential number one in my opinion. I've been hoping Ajax would sign him for a while now. He was voted best goalkeeper of the Dutch league in one of his many seasons with NEC. I believe it was the 2001/2002 season. He's a very good goalkeeper on the line.

Seems that Jesper Groenkjaer is interesting Ajax. I'm not too keen on this player. Groenkjaer has plenty of pace , but his crossing is very poor.

As is his ability to read the game. He can be a rather selfish player as well and quite few of his former teammates seem to like him.

Cheers mate. :cheer::cheer: Seems to be from a Kicker interview in German:

kicker: Sie werden mit Ajax Amsterdam in Verbindung gebracht. (Kicker: You have been linked to Ajax)

Grönkjaer: Ich denke nicht an einen Wechsel - aber: Ich bin 28, im besten Fußballeralter, ich will spielen. (Grönkjaer: Im not thinking about a transfer - but: I am 28, in my best football age, I want to play).

Alirght, so it doesn't seem like there's an obvious link between Grønkjær and Ajax. It is a very insinuating but, he uses though.. Grønkjær back in Ajax... I dont know.. that kid has moved around an awful lot after Chelsea and his performance does swing a lot. Also injury prone, if Im not mistaken.

I thought Grønky was great for Ajax when he was here. One of the best players in that season. After that he's reportedly been poor everywhere he went, though... But when he was an Ajacied I had no complaints whatsoever about his crossing or his tactical insight...

In a few years Ko will tell us that Rosales was great at Ajax.

I think I have a Grønkjær shirt hidden away somewhere so to me it would be a good transfer. And he has played well for the national team those times I've seen him, but it's been a while since I last saw him.

What do you think if we stopped buying shitty players and saved the money to pay big salaries to our players. That way they wouldn't leave as fast.

Maybe the youngsters would be more compelled to stay till they hit 22/23.

That's just an idea but I think that in the end it would do good to the club.

I really loved Grønkjaer when he played in Ajax. He was (and still is) one of my favourite players, so this transfer will be great for me. He didn't have best time in Chelsea and in Birmingham, but I believe that he will back to his fantastic form in Ajax. And we will have good left-winger at last...
