Re: Players Leaving Ajax
Spl, my friend, maybe tomorrow we'll have to review our mad calculations, 'cause it seems that they are finalizing a last minute deal for a defender.. more details in the other thread.
certainly jol can help us and make clear one time for all who will spend all the season with our reserves. this will help first of all the team. not less than 6-7 players, I hope. what a long ajax day, I enjoyed it. and who knows, maybe the best has yet to come...

SPL schreef:Bit of shock that in the 3 hours since my last post nobody went apart from 2 first year reserves Overtoom and Candan to Haarlem.
After todays business we have 31x 1 st teamers and 17 jong players.
Players who are completely spare and unlikely to see much action
Silva Ogararu Oleguer Lindgren Gabri Kennedy Sarpong Martina Blind and even Cvitanich .
These 10 will be on the fringes until December .We will try again in January maybe .
cvitanich wont play? huh? a few of those others will as well, the season is long with many twists and turns

I did say wont see much action. Some wont see any action. Cvitanich will probably see action as a sub until Pantelic is match fit but if Pantelic keeps fit and starts scoring Cvitanich wont see much action.

i feel bad for gabri.. because when he is fit hes a really good hard solid midfield player. i like him.. just as i say.. he cant keep fit. and enoh and de zeeuw i wouldnt really kick out.. feel sorry for the guy

Re: Players Leaving Ajax
I see Lindgren is likely to leave and both Blind and Sarpong will look to loan out so January may well see
us do what we should have done in August.
Ogararu and Wielaert also must go but that may depend on whether Oleguer or Silva want to leave! 2 out of the 4 have to go.
And what purpose does Verhoeven serve ? Sergio Padt is the Dutch U 21 no 2 and ought to be good enough to be our no 3.
At least with the above 6 out , 7 with Martina who cannot really be called first teamer, some of our young reserves will actually get playing time. We have 11 members of our A1 team under contract and
they should be playing reserve games in the new year .

Re: Players Leaving Ajax
What is Blind's real position? I see by your posts that he is playing central defense on the reserve team but has played fullback and also midfield. Is there a chance that he has the ability of his father?
Appie Nouri will forever be remembered for his grace and humanity on and off the pitch!
Re: Players Leaving Ajax
He has played this season as a central defender but he needs to go out on loan to test himself and see if he is good enough, the same with Sarpong.
Re: Players Leaving Ajax
Silva is looking to go as he will need to play regularly if Uraguay get to the WC finals.
We may therefore have to keep Ogararu as cover as neither reserve right backs Will or Aslan have had enough football this season to prove they are good enough to be V d Wiel's understudy. This is my big reason for my weekly whinging on the Jong threads. I do not see Wiealert or Oleguer here next season either and thus the young reserves need to play regularly to prove themselves.

Re: Players Leaving Ajax
souras asked on the Atouba thread about defensive cover if we get rid of Silva Wielaert etc.
Well that is going to be a problem. Silva Wielaert and Ogararu will almost certainly leave in Janary and Blind , who is the most experienced of our young defenders going on loan so that leaves just Oleguer and Atouba as defensive cover . Oleguer must be looking to leave and Atouba is injured although Urby can play left back .
To state the obvious Ogararu should have been paid off back in August and Blind sent out on loan thus Nathaniel Will could have played every Jong game at right back and could now be used as a standby in that position .Van der Meulen could have played every Jong game at centre back also and could be nearer to a squad player!
Looking at others who will go in January Sarpong Martina and Lindgren should leave but what about Cvitanich ? He is getting no playing time in the first team and like Oleguer, another unused sub, must be unhappy. That of course puts our squad down to about 20 which is too light .
It is going to be an interesting time for sales/loans in January.

Re: Players Leaving Ajax
I read Cvitanich wants to return to Argentina and given he is never used as a sub he is yet another unused player who will leave.
So likely leavers next month Ogararu, Silva , Wielaert, Lindgren,Cvitanich, with Martina,Sarpong ,Blind also .
Add on we have a spare goalie Verhoeven who has not been involved even as a sub and we have no more than 20 players for the first team which are those we have been playing (including Atouba who is out for a while and Gabri who is more injured than fit).
If we do not buy anyone then any injuries could see inexperience players put in the squad. Zeegelaar Will and Danilo are the only 3 youngsters from our Jong team that have been played regularly in the reserves.
Of the remaining 20 players some will leave this summer
ie .Oleguer and Suarez and possibly V d Wiel Urby and Enoh , all being touted from Spain.
Add on Gabri, always seems injured, Kennedy and Rommendahl and even Pantelic, who seems to have a new club every season. That would leave between 10 and 15 of our current 30 man squad who are likely to be left for next season.
As we wont be in the CL for the 3rd year in a row and wont have money to spend what chance of Jol and Co going back to basics and go to the Academy and putting faith in our own youth .After all the all ex -academy defence has done well up until yesterday.

I would certainly hope so. If the team is going to finish third, I'd rather see them do it with a bunch of youngsters and not a bunch of overpaid washouts.SPL schreef: As we wont be in the CL for the 3rd year in a row and wont have money to spend what chance of Jol and Co going back to basics and go to the Academy and putting faith in our own youth .After all the all ex -academy defence has done well up until yesterday.

Suarez seems about to sign a precontract with Chelsea, and would leave next summer.
Appie, stay strong !
Re: Players Leaving Ajax
With all the above it reminds em off 97-98 and 03-04 when we offloaded most if not all our talented players to end up with a squad that seems like holocaust survivors.... And we havent had the trophies that those 2 teams had when they were disbandled!! I hate THIS situation

Re: Players Leaving Ajax
Well today it reports that Cvitanich has signed 1 year loan deal with a mexican team! and Suarez maybe going to Chelsea? which leaves us with what up front?? Sulejmani? Pantelic? Oh dear, and with talk of Twente maybe getting Huntelaar on loan, shouldnt we be trying to get him?? grrrr

Re: Players Leaving Ajax
Agree with your thoughts afca73.
I was just wondering about our defence if all 4 reserves go ie Silva Ogararu Wielaert and Oleguer are all looking to leave next month but what will our defensive cover be!! We need at least 2 experinced players
as cover and in fact could do with 2 of the above staying until the end of the season.
As we have these 4 spare and playing for the reserves we have not given much time to our young defensive reserves.

Re: Players Leaving Ajax
I think the Suarez January transfer is just a rumor and nothing else. Oleguer will probably be retained as they can't afford to let all the back line reserves go. Too bad about Cvitanich as I think he is a decent player. Unfortunately, he seems better suited to a 4-4-2 as opposed to the central strker in a 4-3-3. It would have been an interesting experiment to see the first formation with both he and Suarez up front with four midfielders.

Re: Players Leaving Ajax
Suarez has stated that he won't leave this season, but I would personally not be surpried if he leaves for a major club. Although, in these last few games, I've started to notice some things he needs to practice/get rid of before he's truly ready for a major club. For one thing, he seems to make things a bit more hard than it needs to be sometimes, tries to dribble 3-4 players when he could easily just pass the ball sideways (even more so than in the past). Although, that's something even Messi does, so I guess that won't really be an issue in the right club :)
I can honestly see Stekelenburg leave us in a season or two aswell. Many people forget about him, but he's been a solid rock in our goal this last season, and I bet he's the new van der Sar.
When it comes to Cvitanich, I've also heard that he wants to return to Argentina, and it might have something to do with the fact that he gets very little playtime. Rasmus Lindgren has said that he wants to leave if he's not taken out of the freezer. When it comes to Kennedy, I don't really have a clue if he wants to stay or not (I'm from Sweden, so I often hear Swedish rumours.)
My biggest concern is how to replace Suarez if (when, is more likely) he leaves. One hot candidate might be Ruiz in FC Twente.
On a personal note, I feel that Donald might not cut it in Ajax, he's a bit slow with the ball and whenever he gets a pass, he takes too long figuring out what to do with the ball. That might be lack of match practice, we'll see if he gets to play a bit more.
edit: I also feel we need a more seasoned leader. We have a very young team and we need some more routine in the team. Getting someone like Heitinga back (or Huntelaar, not so likely though :P) would be nice imo :)

Re: Players Leaving Ajax
Donald was injured all last season and has not had that much playing time this season so he may well get better with games.
The Suarez to Chelsea story was invented by the Independent over here . It said he had 1 year left on his contract and would go for between 15to 20 m euros. I am not sure if they have got the proper Suarez !!!!! It certainly is not the one at Ajax .

Re: Players Leaving Ajax
Don't believe Suarez will leave until summer, mainly because of the World Cup as he want's to be in good shape there. If he leaves there's a chance he won't get enough playing time and I doubt he's willing to accept that.
Re: Players Leaving Ajax
Last I heard, a Mexican club, Pachuca IIRC, was rumoured to be interested in Dario Cvitanich.

Official: Cvitanich on a 1-year loan to Pachuca (Mexico) according to Ajax.nl.
According to De Telegraaf Ajax receives 750.000 euro's as an upfront fee and there is a buy-clause of around 3,8 million euro's. Should Pachuca decide not to buy him, they will have to pay an extra compensation fee of 150.000 euro's.

Re: Players Leaving Ajax
Internet sites are all about Silva going on loan for a year to Internacional of Brazil.
I would assume they will pay us something and will pay his wages in full , a bit like Cvitanich deal.
Not very satisfactory just loaning players but Cvitanich was on contract to 2013 and Silva 2012 .
Expect Lindgren , whose contract is to 2012 , will go on loan also. The main thing is to get them off the payroll , we cannot loan any more players out and pay some of the wages like we are doing with Luque.
(It is different paying towards the youngsters who go on loan for experience.)
Jol has said there is interest for players they want to get rid of. Ogararu is likely to return to Romania
Martina to either of the Brugge clubs . Wielaert also has interest.

Talk of Napoli and Sevilla wanting Urby
Re: Players Leaving Ajax
I wonder what the offering price is? If it's half decent, we should take it. I can't see his value going up too much more given he is really a player without a defined position.SPL schreef:Talk of Napoli and Sevilla wanting Urby

Re: Players Leaving Ajax
Todays reports suggest Groningen want Blind on loan.
Heerenveen do not want Wielaert and Martina does not interest either Brugge club and not interested in Melbourne Heart.
Given the wages they must be on I am not that hopeful we will sell either Lindgren or Wielaert. A loan deal with us sharing the wages could be the outcome.
It does not look like Ogararu will return to Romania next month . We are still paying him a high wage
which he would not get back home.
Given that Silva has gone we do need cover at right back so he could stay and take Silva's place on the subs bench .He would not need to play many reserve games (Silva only played once this season for the
reserves and once for the first team and that was only AGOVV)
