Philippe, as much as I do respect your courage and your will to not surrender until the very end, let's try to be realistic, it's done, he's going to be our new president :00000858.gif: . There's a golden rule in politics, polls ALWAYS give the right result a week before the second round of the election and he's cruising at 55%.philippe schreef:during the past few months I spent quite some time on the desirsdavenir website under the wonderful nickname of Ajax ... :00000598.gif:

Mate, sorry to read about this. In Scotland we have entered a wonderful politcal period where the Scottish National Party were returned with the most seats defeating the Labour Party. This was Labours first defeat in Scotland in over 50 years - in spite of the fact that the media ran the most disgusting campaign in living memory in which they did not actually do any reporting but instead tried to put down the SNP and scottish people at every opportunity. The current Labour executive are amongst the most arrogant, distrustful shower of shysters shat on to the face of god's earth.carcajou schreef:philippe schreef: PS: My apologies to the people who might find this franco-french rant inappropriate and boring, but we're really at a bad turn of our politic history right now and I can't help but being very bitter and angry. Sorry again.
Yeah, well done to the Scots Nationalists. I'm quite impressed with what I've seen of Alex Salmond in the past - he does seem to have genuine principals, a rarity these days. I'm not totally sure on the actual SNP policies though, apart from the obvious pro-Scotland bits which I would definately support do they offer a real alternative to the system in Scotland at the moment. What's they're stance on education fee's/privatisation of services/trident etc etc?jamcocteau schreef:carcajou schreef:Mate, sorry to read about this. Hopefully in France you wil get things sorted
Same here, I always voted for them when they were running in the elections and now I'm willing to push my involvement further by getting my card and spreading the green lovephilippe schreef:It can not be "done" before the election actually begins, I would say;
I have great sympathy for the Verts, and for the last 20 years or soalways voted for them on the first round, then PS; but not this time; : Royal is our best chance to beat Berluskozy
Dont apologies mate. Always interested to hear the ins and outs of other countries, especially given how biased news reprots are these days.carcajou schreef:...It's a sad day for democracy and politics in France when such a liar, demagogue and populist gets that kind of support among the population .....

SNP intend to wipe out student debt and reintroduce Higher Ed. grants.SE6Ajacied schreef: Yeah, well done to the Scots Nationalists. OK, well I'll certainly be watching with interest. The Trident bit is interesting as there's a fair proportion based North of the border at the moment....dws schreef:

SNP are not in favour of PFI projects for new build schools, hospitals etc.
SNP policy on Trident: send via 'Rocket Post' to London![]()
Stated aim is the removal of all WMD from Scotland - so Trident is for the bin.
All the UK nuclear arsenal is based in Scotland ..... not too far from where I live. My dad worked at Faslane for a number of years ... hated the fucking place and would love to see it go or become a conventional base.SE6Ajacied schreef:OK, well I'll certainly be watching with interest. Yeah, I thought so - but wasn't 100% sure. I see New Labour are thinking of a court challenge in a couple of close run seats anyway re all of the discounted papers. Seeing as there's no proof either way that one party did better than another from all the mix-ups, it'd be really funny if they went to court and lost..........dws schreef:All the UK nuclear arsenal is based in Scotland ..... not too far from where I live. Would be cool with me - I'm sure that I read that somewhere though about the foreign/defence policy (I didn't imagine it and I don't think it was about any of the other parties....)dws schreef:That wouldn't be independence. As I stated: SNP intend to withdraw an Independent Scotland from NATO .. so no chance in hell of a common Defence policy. And since UK defence/foreign policy are somewhat entangled, I can't envision SNP pursuing a common foreign policy with the remainder of the UK.SE6Ajacied schreef:Would be cool with me - I'm sure that I read that somewhere though about the foreign/defence policy (I didn't imagine it and I don't think it was about any of the other parties....)dws schreef:That wouldn't be independence. I see Solidarity now has one solitary county councillor, down from six ( origially SSP) MSP's - the left always has a tendancy to self destruct like nothing else
Yeah, I'm sure you're right, it would make sense - I've not played that much attention to the Scottish elections - I did read that though but obviously written by a very lazy journalist.....dws schreef:As I stated: SNP intend to withdraw an Independent Scotland from NATO .. so no chance in hell of a common Defence policy.
