Surely not as many as the 50 he's played the last two seasons for AZ. Perez is a constant factor in the AZ team.

AZ is a team which plays the type of football that we want to see at Ajax. They are the team which is most similar to Ajax football. Not Denmark.
He has played 16 games for Denmark. He has started in 4 and been substitued every time.. He has scored 1 goal.

I could ask you the same question: How many times have you seen Denmark play? But the point I made is not which team played the closest to the style of Ajax. The point is that when he plays for Denmark in a SIMILAR (not most similar) formation as Ajax and in bigger games, he hasnt come through. What has that got to do with which team plays like Ajax?

You're saying that he plays badly in a team which plays in a similar formation as Ajax. I thought you were insinuating that that means he's not fit for the Ajax system.

Always painful... A story on Nando Rafael, with a picture of him wearing the jersey of Germany... It's a good read, though on UEFA.com).

HSV placed a 2 M€ bid for Kluivert. The unexpected Hamburg Ajax connection gets one more player (formerly) from Ajax.
Appie, stay strong !

Kofi Mensah

Bericht door Kowalczyk » wo feb 01, 2006 4:46 pm

Former Ajax man Kofi Mensah (27) has returned to The Netherlands. His last club was Famagusta from Cyprus, but after he left them he remained unemployed for a while. Until now: Mensah has signed for First Division side FC Omniworld from Almere, you know, the lot we have a partnership with.

I understand afckeeper95's concern and scepticism. Kenneth Perez may have played the worst international match ever when Denmark played England at Old Trafford.

He certainly isn't the same player for Denmark as he is for AZ.

Alright, so I guess the conlusion is that we are hoping for and expecting the Perez that has played for AZ the last two seasons, and not the Perez that [how to put this] has "underperformed" (?) for the national team..

I was just wondering by the way. If both are fit and playing well, who is better on left wing: Mitea or Perez?

Maybe Perez is of the type that plays well for his club and not so well for his country. The reverse being true for many other players.

I had to laugh when I just looked at the "minute-by-minute" BBC commentary on the African Nations Semi-final between Egypt and Senegal:

1837: Egypt's 'Mido' is ordered to come off by Egypt coach Hassan Shehata, who brings in Amr Zaki. But Mido does not leave the pitch without having a hot exchange of words with the coach and has to be pacified by team-mate Hossam Hassan.

1839: GOAL. Egypt 2-1 Senegal
Amr Zaki, in his first touch, nods in a powerful header off a left wing cross from Mohammed Aboutrika. The goal justifies the decision of Shehata to bring Zaki on.

:hypocrite:
“If I wanted you to understand it, I would have explained it better.”

Didn't see it. Read about it, though.

Stupid Mido. You'd say he's f*cked because of this, and can forget about a starting slot in the final...

Some people never change.

I watched it live. Indeed extremely stupid actions from Mido. Too bad he's such a bad ass. Now he'll get his medal sitting on the bench.

The coach was probably pretty satisfied after the substitute scored one minute later.

It goes from bad to worse for poor Mido - check the link to the BBC

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/footbal ... 692714.stm

Now been thrown out of the squad and suspended for 6 months. Wonder will he still get a medal

Van der Vaart is getting back for Hamburg real soon, then they'll be powered by trio Boulah-De Jong-Van der Vaart.

Superb performance by Bogdan Lobont in the tonight game Ac Fiorentina- Fc Internazionale 2-1 that probably has killed all hopes for the Nerazzurri of winning the championship if they don't win on sunday vs Juventus.
Anyway, happy for Boggy.

Regarding old pals: Our friend Zlatan broke a no gaol spell of two months yesterday. He's had a rought time for a while, with some arguments within theam and a read card in the cup.

Seems to be on his way back now though.

On another note regarding Zlatan: I just read that he scored six (6) goals during his first season at Ajax.

Rosenberg has scored 10 so far, plus one in CL and one in the CL quals. That makes it a decent tally of 12 goals. I gotta say that he's actually starting to prove some of us wrong. If I'm not misatken Zlatan's bestseason left him with 16 goals in the league.

If markus keeps this tempo up he might be able to break it already during his first season. KEEP IT UP LAD!!

Ole Tobiasen will be kicking the ball around in the Norwegian mountains the next year. He had been practising with Den Haag, but was apparently not offered a deal. Today, he signed a one-year contract with Norwegian side Sandefjord. So much for seeing old duck legs in the Eresdivisie this season.
