Ajax get the early morning (for me!!!) kickoff again this week with a short trip to Den Hag to take on ADO. Four points behind top of table PSV, Ajax are again in the hunt for the title as PSV are home to struggling and always dangerous (sometimes) Feyenoord. Ajax take on Feynoord in a mid-week Beker semifinal

I just noticed that Ajax get the following weekend off to give the squad a bit of rest before the return tie with Real Madrid. Good for the KNVB!!!! Madrid on the otherhand are on the road this weekend against Levante a mid-table club who gave Barcelona some trouble in the Copa del Rey match up. Following this match the have TWO, yes TWO matches against Barcelona at the Bernabeu, a cup tie and a league match before hosting Ajax!!!! Maybe the football gods are giving Ajax a bit of luck this season.

Both PSV and PEC Zwolle have launched a protest regarding the movement of the Ajax - PEC match so that they get a bit more rest for Real Madrid. I think this is very shortsighted as a lot of FA's readjust schedules to accommodate teams in the Champions League.

PSV would always complaint, no matter what kind of decision given. They score points towards their own fans over there when trying to bash Ajax.

They say it will give Ajax an advantage in the Eredivisie.

too much sleepwalking in the opening half hour and with the ADO goal Ajax finally started moving at a quicker pace. Don't know why ADO were complaining about the VAR call, it was a clear penalty. I think had Neres scored on the quick cross midway through the half it would have been nullified by VAR as Blind was slightly offsides.

Onana looked like he could not pick up the ADO goal shot because of the sun shining in his eyes. Ajax still need another goal or two in the second half.

Poor game by us weak for their goal then we came alive with Donny and then the penalty.

Well it all went right from 74th min ,2 good shots by Ziyech and Dolberg also a goal.Frenkie and Donny both impressed.

I got a good stream from fox sports in the 2nd half,on cricfree, i can follow Dutch a bit better than Serbian!!

After sleepwalking through much of the first half, de Jong took over the match by controlling the MF and making the kind of passes that we know he can make. A brace by Mr. Invisible, Hakim Ziyech, helped make it a convincing 1-5 away win. Now we wait to see if Feyenoord can break out of their funk and play a decent match in Eindhoven.

Player Ratings:

Onana (6) - blinded by the light??? Looked like he couldn't pick up the shot on the goal by ADO
Tagliafico (6.5) - really nice match from the LB
Blind (6.5) - decent enough defending
de Ligt (7) - had one poor moment in the first half and that was that as he defended superbly the rest of the way
Mazraoui (6.5) - good enough on the day
de Jong (7.5) - maybe this was his best match of the year
van de Beek (7) - really good match with a nice goal and some great passing
Ziyech (6) - two well taken goals and that was the extent of his day
Tadic (7) - constantly good with the ball
Dolberg (7) - strong with the ball and dangerous in the box
Neres (6.5) - decent in going the full 90 for the first time in a long time
Huntelaar (NR) - on for Dolberg
Schöne (NR) - on for Tadic
Labyad (NR) - on for Ziyech

Big cup tie mid-week away to Feyenoord followed by the return tie against Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Summed up well Orange .Donny and Kasper both had a good game and Frenkie our best player. Before he scored I thought Ziyech very poor ,take away his 2 goals and he did little.

Right that was great so now lets see Feyenoord do us a favour!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wont hold my breath as the will probably lose easily as they hold back for us in the cup.

Lovely sunny day here on the south coast so I am off to do something very Dutch ,have a cycle ride.
