The team returns to action well rested after the international break and hosts NEC. Klaassen played in both of the Oranje matches while Veltman only saw action in the Belgian friendly. Dolberg got his first senior cap for Denmark but Ziyech missed the Morroco matches because of injury. We won't know more about Ziyech until later in the week and if he is not available, Nouri will probably be in the selection. Since Veltman was awful at RB against Belgium questions must be asked whether it is time for Tete to get a start.

Can he play for the Netherlands now? I know about the international rules about not being able to represent 2 countries etc, but how does Diego Costa do it?

No he can't play for Holland. Diego Costa only played two friendly matches for Brazil and the FIFA decided he was allowed to switch to Spain.

Nope he can't play for the Dutch team anymore.

Danny Blind screwed that up, Ziyech would have accepted the invitation for the Oranje team and when he was given only a few minutes he would not be able to play for Morocco anymore. Now it's the other way around, he can't switch back from Morocco to The Netherlands.

Davinson Sanchez went a full 90 minutes yesterday in Columbia's 3-0 loss to Argentina.

Only some great saves from the NEC keeper have kept this from being 6-0. Dolberg is turning into a great striker for us. Ajax must have about 75% possession and have little defending to do. Sanchez has to be more focused. He again let his man be on the goal side at the halfway line and the through pass set him free. Very fortunate that a goal was not conceded. That was about the only danger moment of the half. Hope that some of the youngsters get on the pitch in the 2nd half.

What a prospect we have in this kid. All the top clubs are looking at him but his agent has already said he should stay for another year or 2.He will have a dip in form but at the moment he is on fire.

This game should now be over so lets put Nouri on for 30 mins

Just out of curiosity, I tracked Traore's performance over the half:

On the negative side, he got dispossessed 7 times; made meaningless passes (back or sideways to the guy closest to him when not under pressure) 6 times; 1 time where he got in the way of his own teammate to snuff out a possible attack; and the unforgivable miss from in front of goal.

On the positive side, he blocked 1 pass; had 1 takeaway; made 1 good pass to keep an attack going; and one good dribble past his man, ending in a shot on goal.

Not what you would call a stellar performance.

dolberg shows that he is human after all. Had he scored on that one it would have been unbelievable.
