reading between the lines if Newcastle offer say 10m euros for Anita I think he will go . Whether this is all bluff from Newcastle after all Twente have just said the 10m euros offer for Luuk de Jong needs to be doubled.They are also are offering 4m euros for Toby . I think they want to buy these talented played on the cheap so we will have to wait and see.

If they are serious and come with a proper bid we could see Anita go.

Spurs are trying to low ball the offer for Vertonghen which at least is an offer on the table since Levy flew to Amsterdam to discuss terms. I suspect the Newcastle stuff is just not going to happen but we will see. Of course all of this comes from the crazy television money that they get in the EPL. Newcastle are in better shape than a lot of the other EPL clubs but their profit last year is solely due to the sale of Andy Carroll to Liverpool. Ajax seem to have a new policy whereby they are not going to be held to ransom demands with contracts. If Vd wiel and Sulejmani,both contracted to 2013, do not except new offers they must leave otherwise they will sit on the bench for their final year . Tough talk . Just hope Anita Alderweireld and Eriksen are not forced out if they finally get new offers and say no.

A positive story today Fiorentina will offer 1m euros for El Hamdaoui. Hope this goes through just take any amount to get rid. Also we should just let Cvitanich go to Boca. They have extended his loan until the end of July so he will then only have 11 months left of his contract with us. We have just got 3m euros in some back tax case so let these 2 go.

I think this is a fair way to deal with players and the club should also sit down with the player and their agent and settle on an appropriate transfer fee up front that can be put into the contract. This would ensure that the club would get the minimum amount should the player wish to leave before their contract is up.

I like what appears to be the new contract philosophy of Cruyff and used by DeBoer. Ajax cannot afford to let players, especially one's who have come through the ranks, leave on free transfers. If Vertonghen and Van der Wiel, and perhaps Suleijmani and Blind, stay and see out their contracts they will not in the starting squad.
It's sad it's come to this but Ajax is left with no choice it seems. The players choose which teams they want to go to and thus Ajax looses their marketability. I wouldn't deny them the right to choose where to play but...gezz, it's all fuc*ed up.
And so now from now on players know how much Ajax will pay in contracts and that if they don't extend contracts they must go. At least now that everyone knows the policy players can choose to come to Ajax, or not. That's the new rules and no more drama every friggin year. The whole transfer system needs to be reviewed perhaps.
Like I say it's just sad and puts a damper on the start of a new season for me.

And don't get me started on the El Hamdaoui circus.

I agree with this new policy but Ajax are still too slow in renewing contracts. Anita,Alderweireld and Eriksen have contracts to 2014 and Ajax should have been talking to them at the end of last season.It was the same last year with V d Wiel and Vertonghen,they need to extend with over 2 years remaining. I see Toby and Vurnon probably having one more year before leaving so they will not renew and come next summer we will lose them on the cheap.

Of the 4 you mention Blind has not had any offer yet and Sulejmani only appears to have had an offer recently.

PS EL Ham should be told he can leave for nothing as we have to get him off the payroll and the same with Cvitanich

According to Sky Sunderland are preparing a bid for Anita and Newcastle ,whose 1st offer was 6m euros are expected to raise their bid. I can see us selling the little man this summer. As I said in the above post Ajax should be sitting down and offering him an extended contract but instead we hear stories that he would listen to a move.

I think you may be right that the mess with the Board meant we did not talk about contracts with anyone until December when they suddenly realised that Klaasen and the rest of the youths were about to run out .Too late for Bouy .

I did read that talks with Toby did start back end of April so that may be ok .Eriksen I belive the club waited to see what he did at Euros as a good tournament would probably have resulted in a big club coming in , so now we will probably start talking .

As for Anita I am not sure how valuable he is thought of at the club and they seem to be quite happy to hope a big offer will come in and they can sell him . I may be wrong.

Spurs seem to be looking at other defenders so maybe Vertoghen's sale will fall through . He may even stay and end up leaving for nothing next summer.

The situation with Vertonghen is nothing new at Ajax. Exactly the same has happened to Marc Overmars in 1997.

reports suggest El Ham is in Florence to sign for Fiorentina,lets pray he goes. I read that we may only get 1m euros pity we did not let him go back in January when they offered 2m
but the agent wanted another 500k. We would have got 1.5m then and of course saved the best part of 1m in salary for the last 5 months.

I hope they are mixing up euros and £.If its actually £9 m plus £3m add ons ie 11.25m euros plus 3.75 m add ons. For 9m euros I would say no ,keep him even if it means a free next season.

I think it may go through Monday .El ham's deal seems to be very quite it was reported that all sides had agreed on thursday! Hope he is not making any more financial demands from us.

@SPL - I don't know the answer; the article in the paper mentioned Euros but I take your point. One other thing I find of interest - ZERO transfer rumors about Van der Wiel; maybe the Euro performance destroyed whatever value there was left.
