Re: Former Ajax Players
My 'Non League Paper' has a list of released players in it and just spotted that Daniel de Ridder has been released and available on a free transfer from Wigan. Not sure we'd want him back but just surpised to see him here as I remember when he was a big prospect at Ajax - didn't even realise he was still at Wigan tbh....

Another player who matured early and never progressed. Re: Former Ajax Players
The Champions League 2nd qualifying round draw includes HJK Helsinki v Bangor City (Welsh champions), which could be the last ever chance to see Jari Litmanen playing in Britain. I think Bangor usually play their European games at Wrexham, and the 2nd leg will be on 19th or 20th July.

I thought he had announced his retirement from football after the last season but could be wrong.DrDuncan schreef:The Champions League 2nd qualifying round draw includes HJK Helsinki v Bangor City (Welsh champions), which could be the last ever chance to see Jari Litmanen playing in Britain. Re: Former Ajax Players
Wow, I didn't realise Red Bull Salzburg was turning into a gathering of Ajacieds.
We all know how Rasmus Lindgren has moved there but when looking at that squad list, I saw:
Petri Pasanen, Leonardo Santiago and David Mendes da-Silva.
Would have to watch out for their results this year... .
In other news: After hearing about how Aaron Winter is up in Toronto, Sonny Silooy has also made the move to the USA. He's now Asst Head Coach @ DC United... .
While Richard Sneekes is now manager @ Hereford United.
I won't put up the picture here but his daughter is one Melissa Sneekes who is the Miss World representative for the Netherlands.

Great to see Johnny Heitinga tonight vs. Philadelphia. The humidity was oppressive all day, so Everton was on the back foot from the drop. It looked like Johnny would play the full 90 for Everton, but he got red carded late on for a second bookable offense . Philadelphia won by 1:0.

They don't catch a break when they play here in DC either since the heat will continue to be bad.Blind3 schreef:Great to see Johnny Heitinga tonight vs. Philadelphia. Re: Former Ajax Players
Don't know if this is the right place to post it.
But he is a former player.
Ronald Koeman is now the manager at F-Word.
So with this, he's completed the Big four of Dutch Football : AFC Ajax, PSV Eindhoven and AZ
WTF!?

Testimonial with a difference for United and Ajax legend
Not content with one match Edwin Van Der Sar is looking forward to FOUR
By Vanessa Keller August 02, 2011
Edwin van der Sar has revealed plans for his testimonial on Wednesday night in Holland, with FOUR matches to take place over the course of the day and a dream team featuring Manchester United stars.
The matches will kick off at 4:45pm, with Ajax Under 13s taking on Manchester United Under 13s, followed by legends match between the European Cup winning Ajax side of 1995 and the Holland squad that participated in the World Cup in 1998.
But for United fans, the main event is at 6:15pm, when Ajax takes on van der Sar’s dream team, which will include Rio Ferdinand, Gary Neville, Louis Saha, Nemanja Vidic, Michael Carrick, Ryan Giggs and Wayne Rooney.
Van der Sar is particularly excited about being joined by his old teammates and friends on the day, with the keeper ready to say thank you to both United and Ajax for his successful footballing career.
"Hopefully it'll be a great night," van der Sar told the Manchester United official website.
"It's a chance for fans to see some top players and some of the current up-and-coming stars for Ajax.
"It's 12 years since I left Ajax, so I'm really looking forward to going back and seeing old friends. I'm grateful for their support with the event. This is the perfect way to say goodbye.
"And I'm delighted the manager, Rene and the players are coming over for the game. I'd like to thank fans and staff at United for six great years. Hopefully it won't be too long before I see you again."
Alessandro Del Piero and Rafael van der Vaart are also still to be confirmed to feature in the dream team squad, along with Dennis Bergkamp, in a day that will celebrate van der Sar’s career in football spanning over 20 years.
Dream Team squad: Van der Sar; van Bronckhorst, Neville, Ooijer, Ferdinand, Vidic, Cocu; Carrick, Giggs, van der Vaart (TBC), Zenden, Kuyt; Bergkamp, Del Piero (TBC), Rooney, Saha.
