Tja, je hebt ook clubs die een speler aantrekken en 'm laten betalen door een andere club. :DBaseman schreef: Persoonlijk vind ik het vrij triest dat deze spelers eigendom zijn van een investeringsgroep en ze zelf niets in te brengen hebben...
Hearts, Chelsea, Villa, Man U, de trend is gezet en niet meer terug te draaien, lijkt me. Ik hoop i.i.g. dat mijn club ervan gevrijwaard blijft.

West Ham United staat mogelijk aan de vooravond van een cultuuromslag. De club die bekend staat om een goede scouting en het zelf opleiden van spelers, verraste vorige week met het aantrekken van de Argentijnse internationals Javier Mascherano en Carlos Tevez. Op de achtergrond wordt ook druk gespeculeerd over een overname van de club door een grote geldschieter.
Begeeft West Ham United zich in de wereld van het grote geld? Het heeft er alle schijn van. Media Sports Investments (MSI) zou binnenkort wel eens kunnen worden gepresenteerd als nieuwe eigenaar van The Hammers. Die geruchten deden een jaar geleden al de ronde en zijn alleen maar sterker geworden na de dubbeltransfer van Mascherano en Tevez die eigendom waren van MSI.
'Het intrigeert me allemaal heel erg', liet manager Alen Pardew weten tijdens de presentatie van de jongste twee aanwinsten. 'Het kan me niet schelen wat mensen zeggen, ik heb er bij West Ham gewoon twee topspelers bij.'
'We hebben de afgelopen dagen veel negatieve pers gekregen, maar dat komt omdat veel mensen niet houden van veranderingen. Het transfersysteem verandert gewoon snel. De invloed van bureau's bij buitenlandse transfers neemt toe. Dat er in dit geval sprake zou zijn van een schimmige deal is niet waar.'
Het wantrouwen waarmee in Engeland naar de komst van Mascherano en Tevez naar Upton Park wordt gekeken, heeft ermee te maken dat de twee aankopen haaks staan op het imago van de club. The Hammers staan bekend om hun goede jeugdopleiding. Zo genoten onder meer de huidige Engelse internationals Joe Cole, Rio Ferdinand en Frank Lampard hun opleiding bij West Ham. Waar de eigen jeugd te kort schoot deed de club vaak slimme aankopen zonder met al te veel geld te strooien.
Onder Pardew is er sprake van een koerswijziging. Nadat de ploeg in 2005 terugkeerde in het Premiership en zich afgelopen seizoen moeiteloos handhaafde, wil West Ham de strijd aangaan met de gevestigde orde.
'We willen de grote clubs in het Premiership uitdagen en deze transfers helpen ons daarbij. Mensen schijnen vergeten te zijn dat deze twee spelers een vierjarig contract hebben getekend en ik kan verzekeren dat ze tijdens de volgende transferperiode niet direct weer vertrekken. Ik wordt ( :X ) ook niet gedwongen om ze op te stellen, zoals ook al is gesuggereerd. Als dat het geval was, had ik hier niet meer geweest.'

LONDEN, 5 september 2006 13:40 - De Argentijnse internationals, Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano, zijn dinsdagmiddag officieel gepresenteerd bij West Ham United. Terwijl nagenoeg de hele Europese top trachtte het duo te contracteren, verbaasde de relatief kleine club uit de Premiership, vlak voor het sluiten van de transfermarkt, vriend en vijand, met de mededeling het tweetal te hebben gestrikt.
Veel is inmiddels geschreven over de overgang van Tevez en Mascherano naar West Ham. Zo zouden de rechten van beide spelers, toen zij nog voor Corinthians uitkwamen, in handen zijn van Media Sports Investments. Niet toevallig wordt MSI gelinkt aan een eventuele overname van de club uit Londen. Daarnaast zou een groot aantal clubs, waaronder Arsenal, Chelsea, Sevilla, AS Roma en Portsmouth, die interesse toonden in het tweetal, zijn afgehaakt omdat de spelers, mits fit, te allen tijde moeten spelen en verkocht worden wanneer het MSI uitkomt, zonder dat de club meedeelt in de winst. West Ham United bestrijdt overigens dit gerucht.
Alan Pardew, de manager van West Ham United, liet tijdens de presentatie niets los omtrent een eventuele op handen zijnde overname. "Ik weet van niets. Het enige wat voor mij telt, is dat ik er twee spelers van wereldklasse bij heb. Iedereen is klaarblijkelijk alweer vergeten dat ze voor vier jaar hebben getekend en ik kan jullie verzekeren dat ze tijdens de volgende transferperiode niet zullen vertrekken. Wij willen de aanval op de Engelse topclubs inzetten."

Dat de relatie tussen William Gallas en Chelsea flink was verziekt na al het getouwtrek over een breuk deze zomer, was wel bekend. Maar dat de Franse verdediger bereid was op het veld te saboteren als The Blues hem zouden opstellen, gaat wel heel ver.
Chelsea claimt op de eigen website dat Gallas had gedreigd om in het duel met Manchester City in eigen doel te scoren, bewust een rode kaart te krijgen of andere fouten te maken om zijn werkgever te schaden. De Franse international vond dat een gepaste straf als Chelsea hem tegen zijn wil zou opstellen.
De Engelse kampioen vindt het nodig om deze details naar buiten te brengen omdat Gallas zelfs nu hij naar Arsenal is overgestapt blijft mekkeren over coach José Mourinho en Chelsea. 'Het is noodzakelijk dat de fans alle feiten kennen. We kunnen zijn aantijgingen niet onbeantwoord laten', menen de Londenaren.
De reden waarom Gallas een vertrek afdwong, was puur een financiële. 'Hij wilde gewoon de hoogste bieders tegen elkaar uitspelen. Dat hij toe was aan een nieuwe uitdaging, naar een andere competitie wilde en dat soort dingen, zei hij alleen om een rookgordijn op te trekken. Toen hij zijn zin niet kreeg, werd zijn gedrag onacceptabel.'
Gallas weigerde na het WK aan te sluiten in de voorbereiding op het nieuwe seizoen. Mourinho zou lang bereid zijn geweest om de rebellerende verdediger 'terug in de familie op te nemen', maar Gallas ging daar niet op in. Uiteindelijk kwam er een ruil plus geld met Ashley Cole, die Arsenal verruilde voor Chelsea.

William Gallas is verbaasd en geschokt over de noodzaak die Chelsea heeft gevoeld om te vertellen dat de Franse verdediger de club zou hebben afgeperst om hem te laten gaan. Dat Gallas gedreigd had in eigen doel te scoren of de club op een andere manier te schaden, klopt niets van, volgens Gallas.
'Ik heb zeker nooit gezegd dat ik een eigen doelpunt zou maken als ze me zouden opstellen. Wel was ik ervan overtuigd dat ik moest vertrekken. Ik heb al uitgelegd waarom. Maar zo ver als zij beweren, zou ik nooit gaan. Als die mensen zulke bespottelijke aantijgingen willen gebruiken om er goed op te staan bij hun supporters, dan moeten ze dat maar doen. Maar ik denk niet iemand zich in de maling laat nemen.'
Chelsea had Gallas een nieuw contract aangeboden, maar het salaris van 97.00 euro per week zou de Franse international te min hebben gevonden. De Londenaren vonden dat hij niet meer verdiende omdat hij er nooit iets aan deed om de club promoten. 'Ik heb er vijf jaar vol trots gespeeld en altijd mijn stinkende best gedaan. Dat betekent zeer weinig voor Chelsea. Chelsea heeft dan wel heel veel geld, maar die nieuwe bestuurders missen klasse.'
Op de laatste dag dat de transfermarkt nog open was, kwam er een oplossing voor de impasse tussen speler en club. Chelsea ruilde Gallas met Ashley Cole van Arsenal en maakte daarbij nog een bedrag over aan Arsenal. Chelsea vond het desalniettemin nodig om hun waarheid te vertellen omdat Gallas maar bleef afgeven op Chelsea.

Premiership football will be hit with a new corruption scandal later this month after at least one leading agent and three top-flight clubs were targeted by an undercover BBC sting that will make serious allegations about the probity of transfers and financial dealings in the national game.
The agent involved is understood to be considering leaving the country following the probe while the clubs involved have all been contacted by the investigators on the BBC's Panorama programme to answer questions about allegations of "tapping up" players and corruption. These latest findings are due to emerge as Lord Stevens prepares his report into transfer bungs that was launched last season.
Crucial to the programme's success in breaking into the tightly guarded world of agents and clubs was a whistleblower from inside the agents' industry recruited by the BBC's investigators. It was he who carried out much of the undercover filming that took place at meetings between agents and club officials.
So far no one from the agents' fraternity has been prepared to go to such lengths to expose wrongdoing and the BBC is confident that it has a very strong case against a number of individuals. Lord Stevens' company Quest, which is carrying out the investigation into transfers at the behest of Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore, is understood to be eager to see the BBC's evidence.
While the identity of the key agent in question is known by The Independent, it was not confirmed by the BBC, which is still finalising the programme that is scheduled to be aired on 18 September. Lawyers acting on behalf of those with allegations against them are still preparing their defence but some details of the charges can be outlined.
At least five agents have been contacted by the BBC via letter detailing serious allegations of corruption. Three officials at Premiership clubs have also been contacted by the BBC over corruption allegations.
As well as those officials, three Premiership clubs have been contacted by the BBC over what is described as breaking industry rules. That charge is known to relate to "tapping up" players, which is the term used to describe an illegal approach to a player without the permission of the club to whom he is under contract.
The investigation by the BBC has become the talk of the football agents' world as word has spread about the names of those who might be implicated. With Lord Stevens expected to report to the Premier League possibly before the end of this month, there is genuine anticipation that the former Metropolitan police commissioner will have some serious allegations about high-profile figures in the game made to him.
With the BBC investigation likely to coincide with the Premier League inquiry, there will be greater pressure on Lord Stevens to make sure his report is not perceived as a whitewash. His inquiry has interviewed numerous figures within the game and had access to clubs' paperwork concerning transfer deals.
In an industry that thrives upon rumour, there is anecdotal evidence about wrongdoing in transfer dealings but little hard evidence that could lead to a criminal conviction.
Scudamore announced the bung inquiry in January, shortly after the Sven Goran Eriksson "fake sheikh" sting. On that occasion, the then England manager and his agent Athole Still made suggestions to an undercover reporter that three clubs were guilty of corruption. Eriksson was interviewed by the FA but is thought to have dismissed the sting as idle gossip.
At that time, transfer "bungs" - illegal kickbacks paid to managers by third parties for buying certain players - were top of the agenda after then QPR manager Ian Holloway and Luton manager Mike Newell made similar claims.
The remit of the Stevens inquiry originally stated it would only investigate transfers going back to January 2004, including five transfer windows - not including this summer - and only potential illegal payments between employees or officials of clubs.
