Feyenoord-AZ is the night before, so it's just a Super Weekend this time. Although to be honest, looking at the results this current weekend was Super already.

It's interesting: bot Ajax and PSV were dreadful this weekend. Piss-poor and totally clueless, especially in defense. Anything can happen.

of course, p$v had the CL in mind last week-end, and should be tired because it next sunday; my feeling is that a win over Philips would be a great step forward for the title

I have Setanta 1 (freebe from BT for 1 month) but I see now that the game is shown on Setanta 2. Is this something completely separate or am I able to connect to this channel under my current 'contract'.
edit: I see now that it has something to do with my BT Home Vision. Am I able to get Setanta 2 somehow?

Setanta 2 is a different channel. If you've only got Setanta 1 for free then I expect you'll have to pay extra to get channel 2 but that obviously depends on your contract.
For info the game will be repeated on Setanta 1 at 8.00pm on Monday night.

Thanks SE6! They offer a broadband contract for 7.99 p/m for all 3 channels or a satellite contract for 9.99 p/m for 3 channels plus some features. Do you have experience with either of them?

Yeah, I've got Setanta 1 and 2. They're both very good, lots of live games and at least 1 live Eredivisie game a week at the moment. They also show a highlights programme mid-week (basically De Wedstrijden with English language commentary and without the studio pundits). I'm guessing the third channel would be Celtic or Rangers TV which are both OK sometimes or NASN TV which shows North American sports (which I've never watched)

And that is true satellite? And do I need additional hardware for that (in other words, how does it really work? :) )?

Mine is on Virgin Media Cable TV but you can also get it through Sky Satelite TV.
The other way of getting Setanta is through the 'Freeview' box where you get a certain amount of free channels and then buy a card/subscription to Setanta.
All of the above systems are available in all the big chain stores. I'd suggest Currys or Comet for example. Costs vary between the three systems but the easiest would be the Freeview box and subscription as you just plug that in and set it up yourself (thus ensuring that you're ready to go by Sunday!).
This is one game I won't be watching on Setanta as thankfully I'll be there watching it live :hupajax.gif:

. My first (and possibly last) game of the season.

Anyone knows about the match being postponed ?

AMSTERDAM, December 13 (Eredivisie) - Two crunch clashes at the top of the Eredivisie on Sunday could be cancelled because of police action.
But if the proposed protests by the Dutch police go ahead the games will be cancelled because public security cannot be guaranteed.
The police unions ACP and ANPV announced on Thursday that they will hold union meetings during the time that the matches are played, which would lead to a shortage of staff.
They are protesting after failing in their negotiations for an improved collective labour agreement with the minister of interior affairs Guusje ter Horst.
Let the matches play on.

Will find out later this morning if police action going ahead. Spoke to policeman yesterday who said that decision to take industrial action legally has to be decided by 12 today

Please update us here when you find out about whether or not the matches will go ahead.
Not sure if this was posted yet, but it looks like Van der Wiel and Leonardo will not be playing this weekend against PSV, even though they are close to fitness.

From what I gather the Police Federation wanted to have industrial action this weekend but this was being challenged in the law courts this afternoon at 16 30, no word yet of outcome in court

I heard a statement from the mayor today. He seemed calmly confident that the game will be played.

Well, fuck, ain't I the lucky one..... First game for me in like two years or so, I schedule it all, and then I ring the bell at the door of my hotel, and the guy goes "Bad news for you man, the game's been cancelled". I'm kind of bitter right now, fucking cops could have pulled that one at another moment goddammit

While I support the right of policemen to strike, why TF have they decided to punish the clubs and the league? Last time I checked, Ajax and the Eredivisie don't pay police salaries.
This is really a misguided, dickish move by the union.
