The semi-final of the Gatorade Cup!
This semi-final draw must be a ticket to the final!

I do hope the team takes this game serious. Even in a dark season as 0506 turned out to be it would be great to end it with a prize. Or should I say the second prize of the season. Didn't we beat Psv in the JC shield, last summer? If we can end the season the way it started, with a win over Psv(also in the semies), then the Ajax fan will at least have something to cheer about.

Vermaelen picked up a 'double yellow' card against Groningen, but as far as I know he will not be suspended for Wednesday's Gatorade Cup game. God knows why, but I believe that suspensions due to 'directly given' red cards keep a player sidelined for all KNVB competitions (league and cup), whereas suspensions due to accumulated yellow cards or 'double yellow' sending-offs are only for the competition in which the cards were received by the player (in this case: the Eredivisie).
So we'll have Vermaelen, Juanfran, Maduro, Trabelsi and possibly Galásek back... That should be enough...
And oh yeah: if PSV win the other semi-final against AZ, the winner of Ajax vs Roda will already be qualified for the UEFA Cup. Which is nice to know.

Yeah, it's on Ajax.nl too. Compared to the Groningen game, Juanfran, Trabelsi and Galásek will return. During today's press conference Danny Blind said that Galásek is unlikely to play from the start, though.philippe schreef:From VI : 'Galásek en Trabelsi op tijd fit voor Roda JC', Maduro unsure
As for Maduro: "Maduro has no fever. He just not feeling well."

Half-time in Eindhoven: PSV 0, AZ 0.
Dull game so far. The defenders are in total control at both ends. The most exciting moment was a solo run by Michael Ball, who was brought down in the penalty area - or so it seemed. It really looked like a 100% penalty, but the slow motion replay made clear that the referee was right. The defender didn't touch him; he just stumbled. Nine out of ten referees would have given it - and they would have been wrong.
(I'm posting this PSV vs AZ stuff in the Ajax - Roda thread, by the way, because the winner of this game will [hopefully] be Ajax's opponent in the final. This game has so directly to do with Ajax that it is 'justified' to discuss it here).

I know...it's bad...I'm quoting myself but sadly the link for SBS6 TV on the internet isn't there anymore. And I've checked the SBS6 website direct and there doesn't seem to be one on there either :nooo: So unless anyone out there knows another way it looks like I'll be watching Ajax on Dutch teletekst (and Chelsea/Newcastle on BBC TV)SE6Ajacied schreef:You should be able to watch it live on SBS6 Dutch TV on here http://wwitv.com/portal.htm as well.Venezuelan Ajacied schreef:Espn is going to show this one a day after it's played

Full-time score in Eindhoven: PSV 0, AZ 0. Teams preparing for 30 minutes of extra time now.
It was a game with very few chances, but the two best ones (or: only ones) in the second half were for AZ, including a very good one for Arveladze in the very last minute. It was the biggest chance of the game.
Extra time in Eindhoven; kick-off at the ArenA in 7 minutes!

Well, Farfán made it 2-0 in the last minute. PSV are in the final.Kowalczyk schreef:Timmy Simons just scored. Nice volley from the edge of the box. 1-0 in the 103rd minute. It's not a 'golden goal', they will finish the 30 minutes of extra time, but I have a feeling that this will be the final score...
Over to Amsterdam then...
One very big chance for KJH so far (6th minute, on a cross by Rosales). 34 minutes underway now, still 0-0. It's not great.

Half-time: 0-0.
It's piss-poor. Huntelaar had a major chance in the 6th minute and Roda's Oper had an enormous one in the 45th minute, but Stekelenburg denied him very, very well.
But the football is absolute salad. Very poor.
Charisteas was warming up in the last five minutes, so maybe he'll be brought on for the second half.
