11 Jan 2006: FC Haarlem - Ajax

The first game in the New Year will be a friendly at First Division side FC Haarlem on 11 January, four days before the Eredivisie will resumes. Normally it wouldn't be a very interesting fixture, but hey: it will almost certainly be Klaas Jan Huntelaar's first appearance for Ajax!
Tickets for the away section are for sale at the Ajax Supporters Desk. Ridiculously enough all the strict away card rules apply: an away card is required and Ajax fans can only buy tickets for the away section. Pardon my French, but that's a load of sh*t for such a low-key friendly... Bollocks. Don't buy tickets via Ajax, but get 'em in Haarlem, is what I say. I will definitely do it that way.

Shit idea, using this as a warm up match. I seem to remember the "warm up" against Bielefeld earlier on in the year. Stuffed 'em 4-0, then got shown up by Arsenal, Boca and Porto!
Maybe a "behind closed doors" friendly would have been better?

Elsewhere we're discussing the line-up for the NEC game. We'll see what Blind will do, but one thing's for sure: it will be interesting to check out the line-up for this friendly. I think we will get some answers tomorrow night: KJH and Rosenberg upfront together? Galásek and Lindenbergh in midfield together?
I am pretty sure Blind will experiment with a few things he has in mind for the NEC game.

0-0. :nooo: Well apparently the hard training the squad has had in this last few days got them really tired and they were unable to win today. At least thats what I read on the official Ajax webpage. Personally I believe we should be able to beat this team easily but...well we cant.
Blind used a 4-4-2 formation with Huntelaar and Rosenberg up front. Schilder also played and it seems he did pretty good.
Obviously this game served as the perfect opportunity for Blind to experiment a bit with the team. Lets just hope things go well against NEC :xyxthumbs:

Well, let's just hope that this "performance" in Haarlem works in reverse. A win in pre-season gave high hopes of a good start. This time it's a crap mid-season, possibly giving no hopes!
The first was reversed, let's hope the second one is!!

You could have also mentioned Hunter, Babel, and Charisteas, since they all played the 4-4-2 yesterday and none of them scored, but again you chose to single out Rosenberg. Amusing.
Until the wingers start getting healthy, in my opinion, the best option is 4-4-2 with a three-striker rotation (one coming off the bench, obviously) of Hunter, Rosenberg, and Charisteas.

I wonder where Yannis was then ? that explains why no goal was scored. :X

Does this count as Phillipe's 2nd dig at Rosenberg?
