Pasveer,Sutalo,Henderson and Traore all back and starting . With Klaassen susp Mokio starts.
Reminded my Arsenal sons they played only their 9th CL game on Tuesday this is our 17th. Rotating is preventing too many injuries and means we have 16 or 17 players all playing regularly .Farioli knows what he is doing.

I’m also not too worried about the result. I want them to win of course but I was not expecting to get this far so it’s like a bonus tie.
All that matters is staying top 2 in the league!

We're playing well today. Brobbey had an amazing turn and strike from outside the box within the first couple minutes and now has scored from a header.

I looked away for 10 minutes and suddenly saw Eintracht score against Gorter. WTF happened?

Well it’s entertaining but I don’t think we are set up correctly for this opponent. Maybe an extra defender or midfielder in the centre for the second half?
Frankfurt send a lot of players forward and there is a gaping hole in front of our defense. It’s resulting in a lot of chances for them.
It would be different if our wingers were good enough to exploit the space on the counter but Traore is being tightly marked and Godts takes too long to use the ball.

Good goal by Brobbey but they are a very good side and dangerous on the counter.Agree an extra MF needed . Hope Pasveer is not out for long but Matheus is a good standby in the league but Gorter has played zero minutes this season , and none for Jong.Cannot blame him for the goal.
Will be happy with a draw and no more injuries, beating Zwolle on Sunday is very important.

Think that was a fair result. Frankfurt are a strong side but it’s not impossible to beat them next week.

Eintracht were the better team on the night and should have put the match away in the first half. Ajax were plagued by bad passing and turnovers that led to a number of dangerous shots on goal. Brobbey did fine (thought he would end up with an own goal but ESPN doesn't show it). Baas was naive to think that he would get the call on the lead up to the 2nd goal and generally had problems all game long with poor ball handling. I guess Sutalo was the best player for Ajax followed by Taylor. Maybe Ajax can make something happen in Frankfurt the way they did in Madrid in 2019 but that team had lots of players who could create danger; this one does not. Not sure what Henderson was protesting about at the end of the game.
Pasveer (5) - made a couple of good saves before coming off with what looked like a groin issue
Gaaei (5) - only average
Sutalo (7) - strong defending all match long
Baas (4.5) - bad first half and that VAR did not see a foul on the lead up to the 2nd goal (thought it wasn't), his praryer was not answered
Hato (6.5) - pretty strong match and good going forward
Henderson (5.5) - not sure he was at his best
Mokio (5.5)- still learning and it is difficult to be thrown into a top match like this at age 17
Taylor (6.5) - had some very good runs into the box
Traore (6) - still just making some bad plays with the ball
Brobbey (6.5) - really good turn and shot in the beginning of the game but it kissed off the outside of the post; solid header for the Ajax goal
Godts (6) - active with the ball but didn't create much danger
Gorter (6.5)- decent in goal and on the first Frankfurt goal I thought he was just standing there and only saw the ball glance off Brobbey on the replay
Edvardssen (6) - thought he was active and more dangerous than Godts
Berghuis (5.5) -had decent free kicks but that was all
Konadu (NR) - on late for Traore and had Berghuis's free4 kick been a little better he likely would have scored
Fitz-Jim (NR) - on late
Back to league play against PEC Zwolle on Sunday

They were overall the stronger and better side, a draw would have been nice but we did not get a clear chance for that 2nd ,although Konadu was very near to sticking one in.
Henderson gets a yellow and misses next week, what an idiot.
I dont see us doing anything next week and I would be happy to save players for AZ game

Looking ahead to next season I really think we need a quality right winger. Traore blows hot and cold and Berghuis is ok as sub for league games.
Sounds like Pasveer may be out for the season but hope not .

I personally don’t think Godts is very good either so we have issues on both wings. He takes far too long to play the ball and our attacks often peter out while he dribbles around then passes backwards. He also doesn’t really cross with his left foot. And I’m still scratching my head over his handball in the first half when he didn’t wait for the ball to go out before picking it up. Can anyone really be that much of a knucklehead?
Frankfurt seemingly didn’t rate him as a threat either, they left him free in the first half and he should have been our outlet. On the other hand they worked hard to stop Traore getting the ball.
Hato is much more dangerous overlapping on the left than Godts is, and I prefer Edvardson’s more direct style.
