On to the final match day in this otherwise forgettable season. Ajax travel to Enschede for a match that could see them finish 2nd, 3rd, or 4th in the table depending on results in this as well as the AZ - PSV match. This is why I like the Eredivisie!!!! Final match day usually matters (I still have nightmares when Ajax failed to beat de Graafschaap several years ago in what should have been a walkover).

van Nistelroi resigned as PSV trainer today amidst major internal team problems. I guess Rutten, the second in command, will take over. This adds more spice and uncertainty to Sunday's match.

I just hope we at least get a draw and finish 3rd and Europa League.This is because my local team Brighton have finished 6th and are in the Europa next season.If Ajax are in the Conference my Albion mates will give me stick.

I see AZ beating PSV but we get a draw.

I’m calling it: Brobbey scores in the second half to give Ajax a 1-0 win.

I just want Ajax to win today even though I don’t really think they deserve to finish second based on the whole season. Will not be happy if AZ beat PSV and Ajax only manage a draw.

Same line up as last week,Berghuis back as sub. Would be nice to win but PSV will be determined not to lose so they stay 2nd.

Survived the Twente onslaught in the first 20 minutes or so. Making a lot of silly mistakes which caused additional pressure. Very well taken goal and touch lucky to be ahead right now and not level.

10 outfield players standing still, just waiting to see if Rulli can do something with the ball. Quality stuff!

I seem to recall the home game against Twente followed a similar pattern and we won that.

Not entirely sure what Alvarez was trying to do there. Seemed like he had total control of the situation and then just froze for a couple seconds and poked the ball away.

That really sums up a season where Ajax finished 13 points off the pace and should feel lucky to be third.

Wish they could sell the whole squad to Heracles and start again

A rubbish performance and lucky to be 3rd . Agree we could sell most of the team, Alvarez,Kudus,Timber are going Bassey Lucca Grillitsch and Sanchez goodbye. Klaassen should also go and Wijndal and Rensch are moderate fullbacks but likely to stay.

At 3-1 down Godts and Vos should have come on and Heits can now be sacked. Back in November when we gave away a 3-1 lead v Emmen we should have sacked Schreuder and got a decent coach . V D Sar should be resigning he made all the poor decisions.

An ignominious end to a very forgettable season capped by an execrable performance in Enschede. With the faintest of chances to move into second place, Ajax left everything in the changing room, with no more than a half dozen minutes of decent football. The lack of organization and just dumb mistakes continued in today's match and there was not much to write home about other than the sublime pass by Brobbey on the lone Ajax goal. PSV ended up beating AZ 2-1 to keep their ticket to the Champions League qualifiers and Ajax is looking to 'try' to make it to the Europa League group stage this summer. Worst standing since the 2006 season and the first time Ajax did not defeat Feyenoord, PSV, AZ or Twente a single time since 1963, a year before Cruyff broke into the lineup. It's safe to say that Heitinga won't return and I'm not sure there is even a role for him at Ajax right now. The long ball up the field recalls the worst of the de Boer era.

Hato (5.5) - struggled at times with no outlet to pass to
Wijndal (5.5) - had a couple of good runs down the flank but that was all
Alavarez (3) - adios muchacho after a horrible game; let's hope Dortmund scouts don't get a hold of the game film
Taylor (5.5) - a couple of half hearted shots
Bergwijn (6) - did put in a hard effort
Kudus (5.5) - see you later and hope you get a big payday from some team
Brobbey (6) - will be interesting to hear why he was subbed off when he was doing pretty well
Tadic (6) - oh captain, my captain, it's time for the substitutes bench for you
Klaassen (5) - do us a favor and retire
Lucca (5) - addio, enjoy the trip back to Italy
Berghuis (5) - had a decent try on goal that was nudged away by the foot of the keeper
Bassey (NR) - on late for Timber who took hit to the head

Lots of changes (I hope) coming this summer

Agree ratings ,think Brobbey had a thigh problem according to my commentator

Kudus will leave, Timber I hope will stay and Hato looks promising. Tadic had 19 assists and 11 goals this season and I think he can still perform in a team with better players.

Other than that none of our outfield players should be playing for Ajax IMO.

looks like berghuis tried to punch a (twente?) supporter on the way to the team bus. not sure what happened but not good to get involved like that
