All the marbles are on the table this coming Sunday. We are have friends over for brunch so I will watch the replay in the afternoon. Feyenoord have a must win Europa League match on Thursday against Shakhtar and they looked quite poor yesterday against Volendam so maybe the extra fixture will work in Ajax's favor.

I was hoping Feyenoord would have problems with Shakhtar but that's not happening. they are up 7-0 with fifteen minutes to play.

Not sure about this game. Ajax have had such a hard time this season getting the ball forward against a press. I think they will struggle to get in the attacking third enough to create lots of chances, so i hope they use them well.

We are having friends over for lunch and because the US goes on Daylight Savings Time before Europe, the match is on an hour later than usual. I'll have to catch up on the replay later on today. I hope for a win but as Tom noted above, this could be tough for Ajax. Don't know why Klaassen is starting over Taylor.

A draw wont be enough and this will be tough .Just hope having had our 123rd birthday yesterday the club celebrates today with a win.At least we have no injuries or suspensions. We only have 12 effective starting players so Taylor is sub today.Brobbey will come on but the remaining subs are not good enough .Still think the lack of a decent bench will cost us the title.

Comments on Ajaxshowtime that Rensch missed training yesterday so we may be stuck with Sanchez. Neither are special but Sanchez is poor and like many fans I think Regeer is better than him.

Rensch is out and Sanchez ,Taylor stays in and Klaassen is sub again .

I suppose the bright side is that Feyenoord’s defence is not that great, so if Ajax can get the ball to the front three they should be able to make something happen.

Very entertaining first 45 minutes.

Feyenoord had the first 10 minutes and scored. then Ajax woke-up and scored twice.

Feyenoord should have been down to 10 men, but the ref refused to show the second yellow to Hartman.

Quite a match so far. Feyenoord are deliberately leaving Bassey free so he has to pass the ball. He’s stuffed it up 8 or 9 times so far but he’s also made a few really good tackles.

Alvarez has been good, and Berghuis, who I often moan about, is having his best game for Ajax that I remember.

every time bassey gets the ball, there is potential for a fuck up. every single time. he puts the team under pressure by being on the field.

the team expended a lot of energy in that half, a lot of running, but definitely a very entertaining game so far.

What a 45 mins our defence was wide open for their goal and their rough football should have seen their LB red carded. 2 fine goals by us. Taylor poor and Bassey's overall play is not good enough .Decent tacker but on the ball dreadful

Not sure if Heitinga can do anything about Bassey. Maybe move Alvarez back and bring Grillitsch in. I have the feeling we need Alvarez in MF though.

He could toss Hato in at CB :)

2nd half outclassed tactically and technically. Ajax should really be worried about finishing second. That’s going to be a massive effort.

Still AZ, PSV and Twente to play as well.

They did better than I expected but Feyenoord are the stronger team.

no wins against fword, psv, or az so far this year, that says it all. Sanchez did decently today but bassey is an absolute disaster in the making. he was a bit better on the left back position but can’t handle the ball and usually his positioning is all wrong. kudus was nonexistent in the second half. slot made adjustments at halftime and heitinga tried playing the same game as in the first half. we could easily finish in 4th place this year and there will be a massive sale

Well really hurts to say this but we lost to the better side and deserved to be beaten .Apart from 1 shot by Kudus we created nil chances in the 2nd half and again our defence is not good enough.

They lost a few players and bought in a few good signings, we have wasted money. Bassey is not good enough (actually he is dreadful) and Wijndal and Sanchez no better than what we have in our U21 team. Our MF was outplayed and why put Kudus in MF where he did nothing and stick on Conceicao who has no end result. Bergwijn is ok and Brobbey is only good enough for 20 mins as a sub.

Title is over and we will have to work hard for 2nd place and could even finish 4th . Cannot blame Heitinga, the Board are to blame for buying a load of poor signings and not sacking Schreuder after the Emmen farce.

Alvarez will go this summer and to a decent side but watching Timber and Kudus today they are nowhere near good enough for a top move. Both need another season here but are not going to stay for Europa League or even Conference ,if we finish 4th.

Our side needs a rebuild but apart from Hato no other Jong player has got playing time.

PSV drew 1–1 and AZ are 2–0 down going into the second half. If AZ don’t win, at least Ajax’s chance of finishing 2nd hasn’t been damaged too much. Have to play both of those teams yet, and they play each other on the final day.

Ajax were outclassed in the 2nd half and poor defending again was their downfall. Yes it was disappointing but it's no surprise given this story is like the movie 'Groundhog Day" constantly repeating. Each of the three Feyenoord goals were the result of poor positioning or a failed challenge. It looks like they will be battling it out for 2nd place now and the schedule does not favor them. They also have a return cup tire against Feyenoord in Rotterdam which they likely will not be favored. There were some odd refereeing decisions by Makkelie who should have sent Hartman off in the first half for the obstruction on Kudus as he carded Sanchez for the exact same foul in the second.

Player Ratings:

Rulli (6) - no hard saves to make and could do nothing on the three goals
Sanchez (5.5) - until the poor marking on the final goal of the match was having a decent match
Timber (6.5) - solid enough game defensively
Bassey (4.5) - quite awful in the first half and moved out to LB in the second
Wijndal (5) - nothing special and subbed off in the 2nd half
Alvarez (6.5) - made a poor decision on a challenge when he was too far away to execute it and Feyenoord go on to get goal #2 other wise maybe the best player for Ajax
Taylor (6) - decent enough all around game
Berghuis (6.5) - should take all the corners and free kicks and was good on the day
Kudus (6.5) - strong with the ball and had a good chance to possibly win the game but saw his shot saved
Tadic (5.5) - just out of gas in the 2nd half when he can't press any more; should have come off for Brobbey rather than Bergwijn
Bergwijn (6) - above average
Conceicao (6) - added speed on the right side and played well with some deft passing
Klaassen (5) - not a factor
Brobbey (5) - didn't see the ball much at all
Lucca (NR) - on for prayer time

No match next week because of Euro qualifiers and then away to Go Ahead Eagles followed by the cup tie in Rotterdam

Just an AWFUL non-call by Makkelie!!! Slot knew it and pulled Hartman from the match shortly afterward. Don't know why Hartman was angry about being subbed off; he was luck not to have been sent off.

Idrissi could have had a direct red for the stomp on Kudus too. I remember Bassey getting sent off on VAR for a similar tackle in his first game. Those calls didn’t help but I don’t think it’s why Ajax lost.
