This dreadful first part of the season comes to a close Saturday with a trip to play FC Emmen.

Alvarez back for Klaassen and Brobbey striker ,Kudus sub.Will be another struggle with this rubbish coach.
Ajax made excuses for Schreuder due to all the new players ,well Wijndal,Bassey and Bergwijn are the only new signings playing today.8 others all played last season.

More awful defending and cheap give aways that was saved with three decent goals. I don't think this team is capable of keeping a clean sheet any more and will have to just score a lot of goals to have any chance to win the league. Taylor is finally playing decently.

Well at least we scored 3 goals. Not getting a great stream ,usually ok but saw about 30 mins but got the goals.
Defence is poor,Bassey nearly gave away a goal near the end but hopefully from 3-1 at Ht we should win.

Couldn't get a proper stream in the 2nd half but clearly a crap performance . I am glad we have an 8 week break, I have never felt so fed up being a Fan and not sure how much I want to put up watching utter rubbish .

We won't have to watch terrible Ajax football for almost two months. Another awful display of defending from a team that has absolutely no identity at all. They can't press, they can't pass in the MF with speed, and they cannot defend; not much else to write home about. I think a Jong Ajax team could have put in decent performance against Emmen and even if they lost they will have played with passion. It's hard to believe that 7 of this Ajax team will be going to the WC for the Oranje and several others for various teams as well. Maybe Schreuder stays and if he does he better use the next 7-8 weeks to figure out how to set this ship right if he can.

Player Ratings:

Pasveer (6) - had one good save but I'm sure is afraid to be in the goal with the defense he has
Rensch (5.5) - had an OK game because all the attacks came down the other side of the pitch
Timber (4) - let Zivkovic score with ease
Bassey (5) - injured during warm up and hurt again that forced a half time substitution
Wijndal (3.5) - at fault twice on the first goal first by not defending and second by fouling in dangerous area
Alvarez (5) - looked on in disbelief as everything crumbled around him
Taylor (6.5) - two nice goals and had to be subbed off with a foot injury
Berghuis (5) - had no impact on the match
Tadic (6) - just above average
Brobbey (4) -played a half without doing much and I think he is being tactically misused
Bergwijn (6) - great goal
Kudus (5.5) - had a very good shot but it hit the post but HE IS NOT A STRIKER; IF YOU WANT TO DO THIS, MOVE TADIC INTO THE CENTER
Blind (5) - poor positioning almost led to a goal
Klaassen (4.5) - WHY???
Grillitsch (NR) - did not impress
Lucca (NR) - no magic tonight

Bassey and Wijndal again showing they are poor signings. Blind is slow but still better than Wijndal .Bassey cannot defend ,how on earth did we pay 23m for this guy.

Kudus as striker words fail me .

I just checked, there are four Jong Ajax matches in the next several weeks. Let's hope some are televised so we can see real Ajax football!!!!

Agree and there are 5 more Saturdays of youth football and some games should be shown .U18 v AZ was shown today , I missed it as it was a lovely sunny day and went out into the countryside for a walk. Had a lovely day out but completly spoilt by the Ajax non performance.

What a relief to get away with only 3 conceded against Emmen

At least PSV lost so we are ahead of them on GD .If Feyenoord lose today ,unlikely as they are at home to Excelsior, we would be top.

Clearly it seems from yesterday that Schreuder has lost the players. Vitesse was bad but we did hit the posts 4 or 5 times but the 2nd half collapse yesterday was a disgrace.
