No rest after a great win last night. Ajax take on what will be a difficult Heerenveen team this Saturday. The Frisian club have only conceded a single goal thus far and lie fifth in the table. Their keeper just got his provisional call up to the Dutch NT. This will not be an easy match and Ajax should not be looking ahead to Liverpool as they might stumble and drop points.

There are reports that UEFA may allow British teams to postpone home Euro matches in light of the 10 days of mourning for Queen Elizabeth. I don't know how this can be done given the tight schedule. We will know more in the next day or so.

Two really nice goals and a great save by Pasveer and Ajax lead at the half 2-0. The set play by Tadic passing over to Taylor rather than shooting was sublime. Keeper had no chance.

I thought this match would be much tighter than it was. Ajax kept another clean sheet thanks to a very good save by Pasveer on a break away and put up five goals of its own. The only worrying sign was Bassey going off in the 82nd minute with an ankle problem after his studs caught in the turf. Let's hope it is nothing serious and he is fit for Tuesday's match against Liverpool. Ajax made only one change in the lineup from the Rangers match with Klaassen on for Berghuis. Kudus was again the striker and had two good goals.

Pasveer (7) - excellent save and good ball distribution from our elderly keeper
Rensch (6.5) - solid match and came off early for Sanchez
Timber (7) - rock solid game again with very good ball handling
Bassey (7) - played well again before picking up a late injury
Blind (7) - maybe best game of the season, but didn't have much defending to do which was a plus; very good passing and moved up well into the offensive half
Alvarez (7) - solid as usual and came off for Grillitch
Klaassen (7.5) - got the match winner and his play was solid all match long
Taylor (7.5) - maybe Bayern bought the wrong Ajax midfielder, he hammered home the playground free kick pass from Tadic
Tadic (7.5) - no complaints from me about his play today, the ageless wonder had good spells with the ball and picked up a couple of assists
Kudus (8) - MOTM with a brace of goals
Bergwijn (7) - didn't score but always drew a double team when he had the ball and knew it was better to pass to the open man
Sanchez (6.5) - played the 2nd half at RB and the team didn't miss a beat
Grillitsch (6) - on for Alavarez at the 60 minute mark and filled in as a CB when Bassey was injured
Brobbey (6.5) - great diagonal run to pick up a nice pass and score the final goal of the match
Berghuis (6) - on for Taylor and had some nice passes
Ocampos (NR) - on for Kudus late

Liverpool coming up at Anfield on Tuesday. This will be a good test to see how Schreuder has prepared his team. Let's hope Bassey is OK to play as he will be needed.

Bassey did walk around the pitch so could be just a minor problem and with 10mins to go and 5 -0 no point in risking him.

Ended up watching the game on my phone as I was watching my 9 year old's team draw 7-7. Talk about not taking defense seriously.
