Our stalwart team again plays the second game in a week which is turning into a regular thing. Ajax entertain Young Boys who are running away with the Swiss League championship. I don't know much about the team other than our old friend Miralem Sulejmani plays there and that they have an artificial turf pitch. Mazraoui is still a long term injury but everyone else should be available.

Blind and Brobbey are a doubt for this game. We can survive if Blind is absent, due to the strength in depth of the squad, however, up front we are a tad bit short, due to the ineligibility of Haller. Lets hope for a good result and no injury concerns. I am confident, due to Ajax's previous record against Swiss sides, going all the way back to 1926 in the 1-0 victory of Servette! To the games against Zurich Grasshoppers, where Ajax lost 0-1 at home but were rescued by Patrick Kluivert in the away game in a 0-1 victory to qualify. In between Ajax have played Basel and beat them twice, as well as beating Thun home and away as well as Laussene Sport and of course Young Boys. The overall record of Ajax against Swiss teams is 10 wins 2 draws and 2 defeats

Yep my fault, got that one wrong. Those were the dark days at Ajax, I remember the season before that, it was even worse, we had John Nieuwenburg, I had high hopes for him, but when playing a team, their left wing would go passed him as I recall the words on www.ajax-usa.com 'As if there was no right back'. So true!

First choice keeper for Young Boys suffered a concussion over the weekend and is out of Thursday's match.

And their second choice keeper just came back recently from a hip injury. The media there is saying it's rocked Young boys! LOL Ajax are missing Haller (ineligible) Onana (banned) Blind and Mazraoui (Both injured).

Is it safe to say this is men vs boys? or Young boys in this case!

Martinez at Cd means we dont miss Daley so much but Daley at 6 instead of Alvarez adds more in creativity.We should be able to beat them over 2 legs.

The next two games including away to Young Boys is on artificial grass, i am just praying no injuries. Esp. Neres and Kudus since they recently came back from long term injuries and are close to being in prime form.

I think the Champions League prohibits matches on artificial surfaces but I guess the Europa League it's OK>

Only Young Boys on artificial .Only 3 Dutch Eredivisie sides play on artificial ,Sparta,Heracles and Emmen.

I have things to do early this afternoon and will watch the match on the replay later on. For those who enjoy the player ratings, they will be delayed.

I can't believe there are people actually saying that Ajax should be wary of Young Boys. These are minnows, it's going to be a walk in the park. Ajax should win at the very least 3-1, but if they are sharp in front of goal it could be around 5-1 give or take a goal.

If Ajax can lose to FC Twente at home they can lose to Young Boys. Ajax are always capable of a blunder or two and the old saying 'on any given (Sun)day' hold here. The quoted phrase comes from the great Oliver Stone film about American football.

they easily eliminated bayer leverkusen in the previous round. and we have a tendency to cock up against lesser teams.

When was the last time Ajax cocked up against lesser teams bar 2017 qualification for the Europa league against Rosenborg.

a 2-0 win mimimum,they really are minnows and on paper one of the weakest teams left!!

Plenty of possession by us ,they dont look threatening at all but no real clear chances.Tadic is everywhere maybe we need to stick on Brobbey ,a real striker, and let Tadic play wide .
