The season starts up gain this Sunday with a home match against PSV. The schedule is unrelenting with seven matches, including two games with AZ (one is the Beker match) along with the first Klassiker. Kudus and Mazraoui are back in training but Traore, Neres, and Brobbey are still out injured. I've not seen any updates on the three players. Ajax need a full squad.

Traore,Brobbey Neres and even Huntelaar are out injured. Antony,Tadic,Promes is still a decent attack on paper with Labyad probably playing some of the game at 10 as Kudus wont play 90 mins.

Klasssen is like a sinkhole where bad things happen. Ajax have a great knack for conceding cheap goals this season and did so twice. I'll be happy with a draw out of this game.

I think we need more of these tough games in the Eredivisie. Defensive mistakes should lead to goals scored against.

I hope to see Haller in there and also Kudus in the 2nd half. There are definitely more goals in this game.

Promes has done nothing but then scores.Labyad is so poor we are playing with 10 men.defence woeful but Klaassen is weak.

We have been playing since early October with 2 MF ,Klaasen and Gravenberch and both blow hot and cold.Cost us points before Christmas and will cost us again.

Haller held the ball nicely and laid it off for Antony to put it in the back of the goal!!

Like I said earlier, there are definitely more goals in this game. We are already looking much better with Haller instead of Labyad.

Ends 2-2. I think good decision to not risk Kudus for the entire game. He obviously looked rusty and good idea to bring him in slowly.

A decent 2nd half and on the play maybe we should have won .Haller was just off side with his goal ,would have been with his 1st touch.
Good to see Rensch ,a 17 year old Cd, come on as RB and not Kleiber. Rensch is going to be a very good player and leave him as Mazraoui's standby.( Kleiber can go back to Utrecht with Labyad neither remotely good enough for Ajax.)

Feeling better with the point but we must hope to keep our key players fit. We should still buy another MF even though Kudus is fit. Klaassen is moderate but Gravenberch looks comfortable on the ball then loses it or doesn't pass properly. Maybe we should get Schone back for the rest of the season!!!

Good to see Ajax fight back despite conceding two weak first half goals and get a 2-2 draw. I thought Ajax outplayed PSV and had some chances to win the game. Good to see that we have a proper striker now and let's see how the team copes with the congested fixture schedule coming up.

Player Ratings:

Onana (7) - made two really good saves off of free kicks and really had no chance on the two goals
Tagliafico (7) - played tough all match and had some good crosses into the middle
Blind (6.5) - decent match but he is really slow these days
Schuurs (6.5) - other than getting beat on the opening goal was steady the rest of the match
Mazraoui (7) - very good going forward today and created a couple of dangerous plays deep inside the offensive half
Klaassen (6) = works hard but is such a limited player
Gravenberch (7) - another fine game and I hope Ajax can keep him for another season
Promes (6.5) - good goal but scuffed another chance to win the match
Tadic (7) - very strong game on the ball seemed to create openings out of nothing
Labyad (6) - I hope to see less of him now that players are getting healthy
Antony (7) - at fault on the second goal and after a somewhat weak first half was very good in the second
Haller (6.5) - just offsides to take back a goal but will help Ajax get back on track
Kudus (6) - good to see him back on the pitch
Rensch (6) - critical clearance to keep the draw intact

Twente coming up mid-week followed by Feyenoord next Sunday. Two matches a week for the rest of January!!

Gravenberch does sometime overplay his possession and then often makes a bad pass. Kid is really good at keeping the ball though. 4 times out of 10 I'm about to scream at him for losing the ball in a dangerous position and then somehow he keeps the ball and is past his player.
