The pandemic year draws to a close with the final match this Wednesday against Willem II. On paper, it should be an easy win and a chance to give some playing time to some of the reserve players. Ajax are three points clear of PSV but with a massive GD that probably cannot be overcome.

Kudus may play which is good news .

Kudus is not on the traveling squad for the match in Tilburg. It is anticipated that the same lineup as Sunday will start. All the players out injured are still unfit to play.

Fair result. Ajax were stymied by opponents who blocked up the centre of the pitch, again.

Poor game from a tired team.

Injuries, too many tired players and another mediocre performance lead to dropped points from a lead for the first time this season. I honestly don't know why ETH didn't do more squad rotation in the last several matches. Other than Gravenberch the MF was bad and Huntelaar just cannot play 90 minutes three matches in a row. I know Tadic is the Captain but he needs some rest as well. This one was ETH's fault. Another match with over 70% possession and 30 shots in all but only 8 on target.

Player Ratings:

Onana (6) - made some good saves but maybe could have done better on the goal
Tagliafico (6) - above average but with no impact on the game
Blind (6.5) - decent enough passing
Schuurs (5.5) - should not have been turned so easily on the goal
Klaiber (5.5) - just above average is all
Klaassen (4.5) - really should not have been playing given how tired he has looked and came off injured in the 2nd half
Gravenberch (6) - best of the MFs but that is faint praise
Labyad (4.5) - for long stretches in the first half I wondered if he was even on the field
Tadic (5.5) - not much of a factor
Huntelaar (5.5) - two headers and some other furtive attempts on poor passes was the extent of his night
Antony (7) - maybe the goal was a gift or the keeper was screened but he did well tracking back; I don't know why he was given a YC as it looked like incidental contact when his foot came up
Ekkelenkamp (5.5) - worked real hard but I'm not sure he has the quality to be a starter
Promes (6) - brought some spark to the game and had a good chance to win the match but the shot was well saved
Rensch (NR) - on late for Klaiber

Winter break coming up and let's hope players get well quick. I'm not sure this team can win the league much less progress in Europe.

Not much to add to Orange ratings.Injuries and too many games caught up with us. The cup game last week was the big curse as we still played a strong lineup.

Our squad is not strong enough and we see today Labyad and Kleiber are nothing players and Ekkelenkamp is not good enough.

Promes and Martinez are the only 2 subs who are good enough to play 90 mins and even Promes has struggled this season.

6 injured but Timber has played little ,Brobbey a Jong player and would Traore do any better than the experienced KJH.
Mazraori,Kudus and Neres are missed.

Glad we have a rest now but I dont see this squad winning the league
