Big news is Gio van Bronckhorst notified Feyenoord that he is leaving as trainer as of the end of this current season. I think he is disappointed that management has not helped to bring in new players so that Feyenoord can compete with Ajax and PSV. Personally, I think he did a decent enough job but the club just doesn't have the money to do much.

Anyone in the NY area who either want to watch the game with me (I’m spending a few days in the big apple) or knows where I could watch this game (other than my usual illegal stream online).

Kezme44 and I live in NYC. ESPN+ which is an online only channel shows the Dutch league. I'm not quite sure which bars carry ESPN+. Where are you staying in NYC?

Yes, you need an account but it's only $5/month. I think it only works here in the US.

You do need an account for ESPN+. They give you a 7 day trial and then 4.99/month after that. It's been totally worth it and the feed is generally flawless.

I called Smithfields and they're showing the Fey - Ajax game on Sunday! I'll see if I can come over. I'll pm you.

They open at 7:30 and when I asked the bartender about the Ajax game he said - yeah we're definitely showing that game on Sunday morning. Feel free to reach out about things to do in NYC.

I looked at Smithfield's schedule over the next month and they're showing all the Ajax games! Schedule is on their website.

Don't think about visiting Washington, DC. With the current shutdown, all the museums are closed.

Haha we are taking the train to D.C. on Saturday because my HQ is there and since I’ve been there a quadrillions times already I’ve seen most museums so we will just stroll around the city a bit before watching the super bowl (I’m more excited about this than my wife interesting enough). But the shutdown does worry me a bit. But to me it would be a mere inconvenience. For 800k it’s a lot more than just an inconvenience.

Actually, the shutdown has just been cancelled! Happy days!

Amon and raymon, are you guys going to smithfield tomorrow morning? i haven't been in a while as they stopped showing eredivisie games but maybe i'll go tomorrow. just trying to get over a shoulder injury which is hurting like a mother, but ajax and some beer would do me good :)

Just arrived at the hotel in NYC so I will definitely go tomorrow. Is it a 8:30am kick off? Would a beer be appropriate that time in the morning? Although I can always claim it’s midday according to my body clock!

yup 8:30 am kickoff. if my shoulder feels better which I think it should, i'm definitely there. it's a quick 10 minute subway ride for me. and regarding beer in the morning, it's always happy hour somewhere!

I'm up for meeting up tomorrow morning at Smithfields. There's nothing wrong with a beer at 8:30. Random tidbit for Raymon - there's an odd law in New York State, where stores cannot sell any alcohol before 12pm on Sunday, but bars are allowed to.

Ahem... As I was just saying....

Wow, 2nd week in a row that the defense is in shambles. Neither Schöne or de Jong are doing anything at all to help out. Mazraoui is having his worst match of the season defensively. I'm sure that there are more goals in this match but I'm not at all optimistic that Ajax are going to win this one. Just amazing how bad things are turning right now.
