It's the penultimate league match before the winter break and Ajax are on level points with Feyenoord. The Rotterdam club has a tricky away fixture with AZ who qualified for the EL knockout round along with Ajax. The starters who had the night off yesterday should be back in the lineup though there is no word yet on Traore's muscle injury. This will also mark Ziyech's return to the club he left for Amsterdam.

If dollberg gets injured. I'm willing to bet Sierhuis will get a chance. If dijks gets injured sometime during the season, will savastano get a chance?

Yes meant to post last night ,great news about Justin.Thats 6 teenagers in the squad.Unlike the other 5 Justin would not get in if Traore or Cerny were fit .Cassierra is also 19.( Savastano is still not getting much time at Jong with the right footed Dankerlui playing LB regularly. )

I am very excited about all the teenage talent still dont think Donny and Appie are better than de Jong.All 3 should be in the squad . We are even talking about signing an 18 year old to replace Tete!

Bad Passing + Poor First Touch + Horrible Free Kicks = ZERO GOALS EVERY SINGLE TIME

Other than the chance by Younes near the end of the half the play was very mediocre.

We're struggling a lot with getting the ball out of defense. I saw so many passes/clearances out of defense getting intercepted. Klaassen invisible as usual and Dolberg with a few bad first touches.

El Ghazi does the hard work at the end to get in the box by getting past 3 defenders, but I think he ended up surprising himself and didn't know what to do next.

Correction - just saw the replay and El Ghazi only got past 1 and gave the ball away to the next. He's back to his old self

First half performance reminds me of the De Boer era... SHIT

I guess AZ didn't turn up at the stadium today. I hate when one team plays 120% against us and under 50% against the others! Anyway, I guess the team thinks they can win against anyone these days. You can see Ziyech, Klaassen and Younes playing poorly tonight and not chasing every ball. Maybe we need to lose, so we get going again.

Oh and Dijks is incapable of deploying any kind of attack down the left side. I'd never think I'd say that, but I miss Sinkgraven!

Veltman and Sanchez are holding up nicely - otherwise, no one seems to be having a great day. They need to have a rule that Ziyech isn't allowed to take free kicks. One good run and a near miss by Younes, and one good run by El Ghazi at the end of the half that he flubbed in typical fashion at the end was just about the extent of the danger we created.

A fitting end to an atrocious performance. Slow, sluggish ball movement - no flow to the attack - no driving force to get the ball into the net. It felt like deja vue of F de B style football. Gotta go gargle the bad taste out of my mouth.
