After dispatching Kozzaken Boys in the Cup with the help of Jong Ajax players, Ajax are home to Excelsior, then they host Celta in the EL. Feynoord are still on top of the table by 5 points and host a surprising third place Heerenveen on Sunday. Let's hope for some points to be picked up!

Remember when we all complained about Bosz playing Veltman instead of Tete? I'm guilty of this as well as everyone else. But now we know why.

I'll add in my two cents (American expression). I didn't see el Ghazi play in the first half but in the second half Bazoer and Tete did not impress. Perhaps it is a case of not having many matches so far this season. I though Bazoer looked like he didn't know what to do out there. All the Jong Ajax midfielders who played had a good sense of rhythm and anticipation, Bazoer had neither. I suspect he might be sold in January. Tete's offensive limitations may doom him in terms of what Bosz wants from a full back. de Boer tolerated it as his team was always attacking down the left side and it didn't matter. This season is more balanced. Tete's contract runs out in 2018 and he has shown no signs of extending it (Raiola is his agents and we know what that means)

Sorry I put my comments about El Ghazi Tete and Bazoer under Kozzaken boys. I too thought Tete should replace Veltman but watching him last night no chance.

For this game Cerny must replace El Ghazi and how much longer must we wait for Nouri to be a sub in the 1st team and then get 10 mins or so. I did say on my other post its difficult for players to perform when they come on for 10 to 15 mins but that wouldn't be the case with Nouri. His debut v Willem in the cup he looked a little quiet and awkward for 5 mins whilst finding his feet then Schone told him to take the free kick and he stuck it in the net.He had arrived in style.

I am so confident in this kid that he would create more in 5 mins x Excelsior than Bazoer Gudelj would do if they both played 90 mins each.Bosz wont be loaning him out after the winter break but this kid has out grown Jong already.

Just come in looked at Ajax showtime ,they give every bit of Ajax news, and I see Nouri's picture and hes in the squad. Wonderful news ,this kid should be sent on for 15 mins tomorrow . Just about every Ajax fan will want this kid to succeed.

I have been watching Ajax on the internet since 2002 and seen the talents of v d Vaart and Sneijder and more recently Christian Eriksen. I have loved the clinical finishing of KJH ,the powerful defending and storming through the middle of Vertoghen and witnessed the genius of Suarez ,certain he would reach the top. Not sure any of those gave the pleasure I get watching Nouri even at the low level of Jong Ajax.I do really see this kid reaching the top given luck with injuries.

Ps apologies to all of you if I have gone overboard.

Not overboard at all. I think most if not all Ajax fans are extremely excited about Nouri. Can't remember the last time we had a player of his potential. Maybe Zlatan and Sneijder and that was at least 10 years ago.

I am also very excited about Dolberg, Sanchez, Cerny, De Ligt, Eiting, De Jong. I don't know the last time we had such a big number of talents coming into the 1st team at the same time.

Ajax needs to spend money on salaries to keep these guys around for 4-5 years at least. The only way we have a chance in Europe is when stars align and we get such a big talented group at the same time. 1995, 2005 and now 2016. We need to keep them together at any cost.

I'll chime in here as well. We also need to look at the very fine players on the A1 team. Let's hope that Bosz can put together a good run in the EL this year along with the league. IIRC, the league loses the second CL qualifying spot next season because of ongoing poor performances and I'm not sure that things will improve this year. PSV are in bad form right now and may not even finish 3rd in their CL group. Feyenoord are in a tough EL group and AZ lost their most recent match.

Anyway, the talent that is coming through the ranks at Ajax is first rate. Now if we can only send Gudelj and Klaassen on their way in January!!

EDIT: Bosz said el Ghazi was ill during the Cup match on Wednesday which may explain why he came off at the half and why he isn't in the selection tomorrow.

Agree we do indeed have some real talents.Read this week Dolberg's agent said Man u Barca Real looking at him but what could they teach him compared to Ajax where he is in the first team. He suggested his salary was good .

Sanchez looks almost the finished article but de Ligt excites me almost as much as Nouri. In 2019 when Uk is out of EU their football clubs will then be subject to FIFA rules on signing kids ie no one under 18 from abroad. We should stop losing 16 year old talents to England then.

I agree. They need to be players of a certain calibre to be able to come back and make a difference. We haven't produced anyone of Riijkaard and Litmanen's calibre in a long time. The only players who could make that much of a difference are Sneijder, Suarez and maybe Vertonghen.

Yes, Nouri and Cerny in the squad! I think this is a good message from Bosz. If you play well in jong, you will be rewarded with chances to show your worth in the first team. Certainly these two have deserved their chance, no doubt. Really hope they will get some minutes. Perhaps it's too much to ask to see Ziyech and Nouri playing together. that could be magical though, but I guess Bosz would consider that to be too risky defensively.

If Nouri comes on it will be the biggest cheer of the night.

Sinkgraven not fit so Dijks back.Gudelj also not fit so Schone stays in midfield.

Is everyone else have trouble staying awake during this match? Absolutely numbing my brain! I made the mistake of watching the Dortmund/Schalke match just before this one and actually saw some football being played. I may just go for a walk and give up on the 2nd half as the weather is very nice outside.

Woeful Ajax . Defence looks dodgy , we dont have much of a midfield and very little from the attack. Cerny must start the 2nd half instead of Younes and get Nouri on .

Yeah we played the entire half in a gear or two lower than what we should've been. I wonder how much the El Ghazi incident is affecting the team.

What I did like was that the team is still trying to open the lock using many different methods. Under De Boer this would've been crosses from the left and crosses from the right.

I would like to see Cerny and Nouri around the 60th minute in place of Younes and Ziyech.

Here we go. Just needed a higher gear or two.
