Well the International break is over with the Oranje getting a draw in Sweden in the first of the WC qualifiers. France also drew away in Belarus. Next up for Bosz's men is Vitesse who just got yet another Chelsea loan player. Only injuries that I am aware of is Tete who left the NT camp last week and Dolberg who was injured in the Danish U-21 camp. Don't know how severe either is.

Peter Bosz said today that everyone is fit for Sunday's match against Vitesse. Both Tete and Dolberg trained with the first team yesterday. Sanchez returns today from Colombian NT duty.

NGSN which is run by a Dutch company is supposed to come back on line in the US shortly. They provided live streams of all Dutch league games last year until they shut down in early April. Hoping that this happens soon!!

Squad of 20 ,just v d Beek and Krul excluded . (Serero is not a first team squad player anymore and doubt he will play much in Jong Ajax after all Nouri de Jong and v d Beek should be in our first team squad)

Bazoer is not in the starting 11. It seems will see Riedewald as the defensive midfielder, good. Along with Ziyech we hopefully will see a more dynamic midfield this time.

if we dont win today Bosz will be under big pressure.Another performance like Willem and he will have to go.

First time in memory that there isn't an Ace Stream or Sopcast stream. Wierd watching it on a tiny browser screen.

Woeful crap football by Ajax. 45 mins more of this and get rid of Bosz. Rijkaard is sitting watching ,he should be in charge of our club ,dont think he would let us play this rubbish.

Another pretty dreadful half of football. Club is really lucky not to have conceded a couple of goals. Had Vitesse attackers not been so selfish they would have seen players open for clear shots on goal. I guess this is the new formation that Bosz is trying out that looks like some kind of 4-1-4-1. Klaassen's ball skills are so bad that he is pretty much useless paired up with Gudelj in the middle. He's only good as a runner into the box. Traore has been probably the best player for Ajax dropping deep to get the ball and making some good passes. He's the only one on the club that can do it. Ziyech has not been a factor. Veltman cannot defend as a left back. Sanchez seems to have settled down now and had a good half. Dijks is an accident waiting to happen.

Quite frankly this team still has too many mediocre players who are not suited to the positions they are playing.

Nice free kick from Ziyech and absolutely no marker on Viergever who drills it home!

Ziyech on to Viergever's head for a goal.Finally someone who can put a decent cross into the box.

Totally undeserved, Ajax takes a 1-0 lead as Dijks heads in a free kick.

Classic Ajax. Who else would hide their most expensive player, a left footed midfielder, out on the right wing? It's like this freaking 4–3–3 is more important than anything else...

Traore pulls up with what looks like a hamstring injury -- hopefully Dolberg will come on in his place -- It's been another one of those games from Traore -- occasional moments of really good play contrasting with all the lost balls and misplaced passes.

Kruisdijk off so they are down to 10 men.

Dolberg on for Traore. Dolberg is a real proper striker imo.

He really moves well around the box. Wasn't on for even a minute and was in position to make a scoring chance.

Well we held on for the win but we were not that convincing.Ziyech with the one bit of quality for the goal.

Mediocre performance. No goal from the run of play even when Vitesse went down to 10 men. This sure doesn't look like an Ajax team. It's hard to single anyone out other than the two central defenders who performed well in front of Onana. Midfield continues to be rubbish and until the youth players get promoted to the first team will continue in this manner. Since I can't write anything more positive, let's turn to the player ratings:

Onana (6) - nothing to do until extra time when it looked like Vitesse might snatch a goal
Dijks (3.5) - poor on defense and really didn't go forward at all
Viergever (7) - solid header for the goal and his all around play was more than decent
Sanchez (7) - rock solid on defense
Veltman (4.5) - absolute horror on defense and committed some silly fouls
Riedewald (5) - average and no better
Gudelj (4) - one very nice play early on that was well saved followed by absolute poor play
el Capitan (4) - poorest touch of anyone on the field and absolutely wasted in this type of set up
Younes (5) - one decent shot on goal keeps him at an average performance
Traore (6.5) - best of any of the front players, why didn't Bosz get him off the field right when he pulled up with a hamstring problem? Hope he doesn't miss any matches
Ziyech (6) - he should take all the free kicks but wasn't otherwise better than an average player
Dolberg (4.5) - OK match until the clumsy tackle that gave Vitesse a dangerous free kick
Schöne (5.5) - one nice shot on goal but otherwise a non-factor coming on late
AeG7 (5) - managed a weak shot on goal

Off to Greece for a Thursday match where nothing good will happen.

A poor all round performance.Tete has to play RB and I would drop Veltman.The midfield should all be dropped. Ziyech to play on the left Nouri on the right and Bazoer behind them. Younes El Ghazi and Traore as wide men and Klaassen and Dolberg as strikers until we can sign an experienced no 9. Traore works hard but is not a No 9.

Reading the Dutch site agree we have bought in 2 strikers but the best striker is an 18 year old kid . Think he looked far more threatening than Traore .

Traore is much better at hold up play on the ball. I hope that will come with Dolberg. Ajax just have too many square pegs and lots of round holes to fill. I think we are in for another long season.
