9 APR 2016 Cambuur - Ajax Match Day 30

Counting down the matches now and slip ups are not permitted. Ajax are away to cellar dwellers Cambuur in what should be a straight forward victory. However, there are a number of players who are one Yellow card away from suspension and the club is woefully thin in depth at some key positions. PSV kick off an hour later and are home to Willem II.

Looks like the same lineup as last weekend. Am on a nice Russian stream right now as our Spanish language sports station will only carry PSV matches.

Too slow, too boring, and not worthy of being champions. Younes is the only one playing positive football. All the midfielders are just awful. van der Hoorn hurt in a collision with the keeper and off now for van Rhijn. Keep it up Ajax and you will gift PSV the Eredivisie. Just pathetic!

I'm not entirely sure I can express in words what I saw from Ajax in the first half. Lifeless and disinterested maybe?

Well l might be watching on a small screen on internet but that was dreadful. 45 mins more like that and you can give the title to PSV

How did Younes miss that chance with no pressure on him? El Ghazi played the perfect ball across the box to him.

Well I missed the 2nd half, stream went off air then it was dinner .As we won I will tape the game tonight (sky did not show it live but its on 3 times tomorrow) and watch it properly knowing we played crap but won.

Given thats only the 2nd time we have not been on live I cannot complain.

It's difficult to find anything good to write about this team tonight. What an absolutely awful performance. Younes and el Ghazi were the only ones who came to play and unfortunately el Ghazi was only on the pitch for less than a half. Cillessen only had to make a couple of saves on soft shots that a 13 year old youth keeper could have saved and Cambuur didn't put another shot on frame the rest of the match. There are no easy matches down the stretch and perhaps we should be grateful for the three points.

Player Ratings:

Cillessen (6) - hardly troubled though there were some dicey Keystone Kops performances in front of him at times
Dijks (6.5) - decent match as he tried to drive forward as much as possible and defended pretty well
Viergever (7) - good match and had to take a Yellow after Klaassen gave up the ball in the midfield
van der Hoorn (6) - played well until he had to be subbed off late in the half after the collision with the keeper
Veltman (6.5) - moved into the middle and did OK
Mr. Irreplaceable (6) - decent match as the holding midfielder
The €5M Man (3) - his value is dropping face in the face of an absolutely horrific performance - zero ball control, one wild shot and lots of mental mistakes; maybe he can find a nice team in the English Championship
Klaassen (4) - other than the goal which was 90% el Ghazi's cross, he was almost as bad as Bazoer
Younes (7) - really positive play and tracked back on defense for a change but really should have iced the match with the pass that el Ghazi delivered to him
Milik (3) - no words can describe his performance today
Schöne (3.5) - he keeps getting slower and slower and slower with each passing match; el Ghazi starts the rest of the matches
van Rhijn (5.5) - two dice plays on defense but otherwise OK
el Ghazi (7) - two great crosses and wanted to always push forward; FdB - start him from now on!!!
Serero (5.5) - on briefly in the end and kept his head in the game; had one nice clearance when it was needed

Next Sunday Utrecht come to Amsterdam and that match will be a lot more difficult; Ajax better not count on PSV dropping any points! Let's hope for something better.

Obviously the 2nd half was as aweful as the first except we actually scored. I did see nearly all the first so will just watch the 2nd half.

PSV seems to be in a spot of bother right now. Guardado is out for the entire season.

In their game against Willem II, they are down to 10 men and score is still 0-0 in the 60th minute.

I had to miss this one as I was en route to visit my brother. Sounds like I didn't miss much.

PSV have scored 2 so game over. We have played very poorly but won and still lead by 2 points.

Vitesse match could be dicey for PSV but Ajax must win out to assure the championship.

Well I actually watched all the game again earlier .The first 60 mins to the goal were diabolical . Younes and ElGhazi had almost open goals to score in but the thing that concerned me was the defence was shaky at times near the end. Well Milik was dreadful and other than Klaassen getting the goal did we have a midfield?

Next week Haller of Utrecht will certainly cause a lot of bother.

El Ghazi has to start instead of Schone from now on and Tete ,the best defender in the squad ,should comeback with Veltman Cd.

One other point v d Hoorn was pulled down by his shirt after 5mins ,both sky commentators thought it a penalty .The game would have been a lot different had we be given that and scored!

Utrecht will be the toughest game and if we can beat them I predict we will go on to be champs.
