Off to Warsaw for a Thursday rematch against Legia. Interesting that the match will be in a closed arena and I guess the last time this happened was in the Cup match a couple of years ago against AZ after the pitch invasion cancelled the first game (though school children were permitted in to watch). This will be a tough game given Ajax's woeful offensive performance lately. Not sure that we can keep a clean sheet or score a goal - both will be needed in order to advance.

Perhaps a good thing for the Ajax reputation that UEFA gave Legia fans a ban for the games in Amsterdam and in Warsaw. This week Feyenoord took all the credits and negative publicity for their misbehaving fans, Ajax F-side and Vak 410 would have wanted to fight with f*cking mad / bloody crazy Legia Warsaw hooligans too for sure.


Difficult draw, but as a 1-0 lead asks more for scoring an extra goal than for defending and defending isn't really in the Ajax DNA I expect a good, fresh, attacking Ajax there in Warsaw where they will host this years Europa League final in May 2015. I predict a 0-2 win for our Ajax!

Considering how our domestic season looks like a lost cause, I'm going to change my preference (I normally prefer Ajax do well domestically over success in Europe) and wish for a long run to the Europa Cup final. Here's hoping for European glory for our mighty club!

Lets be honest. Feyenoord's away 1-1 draw against AS Roma is something we can only dream about for Ajax. Recently Real Madrid technical staff members went to the Netherlands to visit the youth academy. Who's youth acadamy? They didnt head to de Toekmst. They headed straight to Rotterdam. That tells us a lot about how our bitter rivals have taken huge leaps not just in developing their youth system, but perhaps even a force to be reckoned with in Europe, assuming they dump Roma out of the Europa League. While Ajax head to Poland with a reasonable degree of uncertainty as Frank de Boer said '60% chance for Ajax 40% chance for Legia.

^^Madrid would also visit the Sparta academy that is doing quite well in terms of player development. Unfortunately the fact that they have not been in the Eredivisie for several years now means they have to sell players at an earlier stage. Also saw that Martin Odegaard scored his first goal for Jong Madrid in the La Liga B over the weekend. Too bad he didn't come to Ajax.

In addition Frank doesn't seem to know what to do about it.

I'm very pessimistic for this one, and our chances in the competition as a whole (even if we squeeze through somehow) given the other teams still in the competition.

I say bench anybody not certain of being at Ajax next season and give the European experience to youth...

Yes Frank seems to be developing more 'blind spots' every week which worries me, but... don't worry.

They broadcast all the Eredivisie and KNVB Beker games and access is free worldwide. Tonight they have almost all Europa League matches, perhaps exact for two. RTL7 picked Ajax and Feyenoord, so FOX Sports will broadcast a live report from Zenit-PSV, I'm not sure if they are allowed to have livestreams for Legia-Ajax at the same time........

EDIT: Free VPN won't work as there is too much stuttering. I tried to watch the interview with FdB that was posted on the RTL7 site but it wasn't very good. Don't want to be frustrated here. I guess a paid VPN is the way to go for this.

Found a free Polish stream on Rojadirecta futbal for the match that looks pretty stable. they also said the match was on 13th stream on Sopcast but that is incorrect.

Yes, just like a week ago no Moisander as he didn't extend his contract at Ajax and Frank wants to play with his future and not with our past.

I have been nervous for this one all day, but now I have refound my confidence mode. We will have over 61% possession, score at least 2 goals and go through to the Round of 16.

I hope we will draw Dynamo Kiev as I have already booked an airplane ticket to Ukraine for March so would be nice to combine my vacation with an European Ajax game!
