2nd to last match of the first round in the Eredivisie coming up following the nice win over Apoel. Win is needed to keep pace with PSV who still have the make up match with Feyenoord coming up.

Up very early this morning after a holiday party last night....
Another important match against a club that can be difficult. Same squad that played against APOEL. Ajax has played very well these last couple games, especially Serero and the forwards. Utrecht is without their leading scorer Ruud Boymans. Need to stay close to PSV who host Twente later today which could be tricky for them.
Let's hope for some good results!

great series of passes and Klaassen is clinical but he may have been a shade off sides. Linesman doesn't call it so it's now 2-0

Oof that was a penalty. Didn't think so at first so you can't really blame the ref but on the replay it was clearly a foul. Oh well.

Other than the poor defending on the Utrecht goal it was a pretty decent half. Always worry when Ajax have a tough midweek fixture and the opponent does not.

well 2 good goals ,well a great one by Serero, the 3rd was there for the taking and then shambollc defending.Viergever seemed to just stand still and let them score.Schoolboy defending by us.Really fed up this game should be over by now.

just saw the replay on the Utrecht goal. Several players were at fault. Serero did not challenge Duplan and then Moisander goes up a couple of steps for no good reason as there was no player around him but he opens the space for Rubin to run into and it was a nice pace. Veltman is forced to come way over to defend and cannot get there in time. Cillessen cuts the angle down but it was a nice goal by the young American striker.

Very nice first half! Center of the defense was asleep or something on the Utrecht goal, couldn't really see what happened but it was on Moisanders' side so I blame him. He shouldn't be playing anyway....
Great goal from the little man Serero, who has been outstanding lately!
