Home match against a struggling team but Ajax have been struggling as well so nothing can be taken for granted. Most of the players should be well rested after the international break.

Time for Ajax to get back on track against the team who is at the bottom of the table. Although it's early many fans are nervous and question de Boer's team selection, so it will be interesting to see who starts tomorrow. The two new guys are in the selection: Zimling a midfielder and Boer the new back up keeper. Welcome!
I'll only get to see the first half as I have a golf game so hope Ajax comes out fighting and scoring!

So, Milik got the start instead of Siggy. Interesting to see can he impress and challenge Siggy. Serero has had a couple of good games, but I would like to see Schöne or Duarte start in midfield instead of him. Serero offers very little to our attacking game.

Anyone have a Sopcast channel other than the 13th stream. I cannot find any Russian feeds today and the 13th stream isn't loading.

You might want to look into AceStream. There are many streams via that -- I'm currently watching on a Spanish stream, but there are about 3 or 4 Russian sites showing it.

Finally some offense from this team. Just as before FdB has them transitioning to a 3-4-3 when they have the ball moving up the field with Viergever dropping back as the central defender and Boilesen and van Rhijn pushing forward. Lucky that Veltman's slip was not punished with a goal. van Rhijn had a great left footed cross near the end of the half but el Ghazi could not put it on frame.

Finally! Milick has been a real live wire - glad to see it. They are lucky not to be 5 goals down. OTOH we have been lucky not to be playing at 1-1. Some shaky moments on defense.

Poor second half (not that the first half was all that much better, except we scored 2 goals). Shaky defense; rotten passing; 90% of the scrambles were won by them. A good team is really going to chew us up.

A home game against a bottom club. You would think we could take a comfortable win. Really struggled to kill the game and some nervous moments in the end. Guess we tried to save some legs for the CL game next week. Almost cost us.

We manage to turn every game into a cliff hanger and this one was no exception. The game should have been well in hand going into the final 10 minutes but instead we concede a goal to their giant striker and hold on for dear life to take a 2-1 win. There are still too many players who slow things down and we turned break opportunities into nothing. A couple of good goals by Milik but the rest of his play was not terribly convincing. I like moving into a 3-4-3 when attacking but the ball movement needs to be much quicker and I'm not sure that moving Boilesen inside of Schöne on the left side is tactically the right approach.

Player Ratings:

Cillessen (7) - actually had some tough saves to make particularly on the bouncers but maybe should have saved Weghorst's header
Boilesen (6) - better today positionally on defense and when he moved into the midfield attacking
Moisander (7) - good all around game and maybe he's out the funk he was in the last two matches
Veltman (6.5) - really lucky that his slip in the 1st half was not punished
van Rhijn (7) - don't think he had a chance to out jump Weghorst the giant; some nice crosses delivered
Viergever (7) - solid all around match both in the center and at left full back when Boilesen left
Serero (5) - really slowed down the match too much when he had the ball but did some good work defensively
Klaassen (5.5) - did he have more than 5 touches in the match?
Schöne (7) - really nice slot pass to Milik
Milik (7) - gets points for scoring but nothing more
el Ghazi (7) - though he didn't score he was on top of everything offensively
Andersen (5.5) - keeps getting chances from FdB and doesn't take advantage of them
Zimling (6) - didn't screw things up but it's unclear whether he ends up starting at some point
Duarte (5) - silly foul at the end of the match giving Heracles a chance to cross to the Giant

Fixtures come fast and furious now. Home to Paris St. Germain on Wednesday and they will need to elevate their game a lot to win that one. Feyenoord away a week tomorrow in the first Klassiker the a mid-week cup match, away to NAC, and the off to Cyprus for another CL match against Apoel. Five matches in the upcoming two weeks. We will find out how much depth this team actually has.

well the worst of both worlds for me Saturday night games are not live on sky but the game is shown in full 3 times tomorrow. Thought I would wait until the morning and treat it as live without knowing the result, so went out . You probably guessed I came home but cannot wait so watched the last 20 mins on wiziwig and relieved we actually won.I will now watch it in the morning and enjoy the win.A few Saturday games coming up so I will have to join you on streams and watch live.

They will always play on Saturday if there is a Champions League match scheduled at midweek.

Not sure if you guys know this but the game was on live on Saturday night on sky sports 5 but on the red button. Probably better though to watch it once you knew what the score was as the last 10 minutes was bloody painful watching us hang on for the much needed win.

The DM clearly is our weak link, the connection with our CD being mediocre.
