First official match of the 2014-15 campaign and a chance to get some revenge after the thrashing the club experienced in the Cup final last Spring. NT players: Veltman, Blind, and Cillessen are still on holiday and won't be available to FdB. This will our first opportunity to see the new group of forwards.

Cool, these games are always weird so I wouldn't rule out another 5–1 defeat but I'm looking forward to seeing how we line up! So Blind, Cillessen and Veltman haven't rejoined the squad yet, but what's the deal with Zivkovic?

Thought Zivkovic would be included but I imagine he is not going to be rushed into the team ,he is still 17. Siggy being played to put him in the shop window.

We still have a decent squad,no Cillessen,Blind Veltman V Rhijn,Fischer,Dijks Riedewald and Zivkovic.Sana and Lukoki also still here.

I am out tomorrow so will only catch the 2nd half.Will hope El Ghazi gets some playing time.

I expect Milik as a striker tomorrow and perhaps also in the first league game against Vitesse but I expect Zivkovic to take over his place during the season as Zivkovic has just a lot more talent and quality than Milik and also Kolbeinn from Iceland.

I'm looking forward to attend this in Amsterdam Arena because of the fact Tom_ already points out these games are always very, very weird. Interesting to see how our youngsters survive this, for some of them it will be their first official Ajax appearance. That's always a nice thing.

No one of you internationals will be in Amsterdam by coincidence this Sunday?? Or is someone?

I'm not, a couple of weeks ago I moved to the south of France (for a job) so I'm a bit further away now. Hope to make it back to Amsterdam maybe for a week when I can catch a couple of home games, e.g. a league game and a CL game or something.

That's quite a development Thomas! The only downside is no more 19 euros train rides from Cologne to Amsterdam for you anymore!

How about your girlfriend..? Did she stay in Germany or did she move to France with you? I remember you told me her job in Cologne was about to end...

...Let's keep an eye on the Champions League drawing and hope we can combine an Eredivisie and Champions League match in one week.

I think Ligeon lost the ball in the midfield which led to that goal. Andersen is so much taller and is also holding his own in this game.

There are rumours that if Blind leaves, we'll get Mokotjo. I haven't seen a lot of Mokotjo, but he's impressing me in this game.

I saw maybe 10 minutes total of the match as both streams that I was trying to watch kept stuttering. I hope that this isn't going to happen when the season starts. I have to agree with Tom, Andersen just wasn't good. I think he's maybe trying too hard and he also is a touch too slow. Missed the goal so I can't say who's at fault. I think we had a chance when a ball hit the post in the first half but couldn't tell who shot it (it was the play when Viergever got hurt).

For me the problem was lack of control in midfield particularly after Viergever went off, and that's where the goal came from. Serero got pushed off the ball (that's who I thought it was at least), maybe it was a foul but a physically stronger player wouldn't have been troubled by it.

Ah well, winning this game is never important but I'm really not keen to watch another season where we struggle pathetically to break down packed defences and concede on counter attacks...!

I'm not going to argue, but in my mind, de Boer made a mistake in not replacing Anderson after 65 mins..he made a bad mistake and his head dropped...too much negative play, giving the reponsibility to others!!! You heard de Boer say to El Ghazi...get the ball and go AT them, inside!!! I think they need more positive play! Not really impressed with the strikers...very few should be happy with their performances...Vermeer 6, no-one else in the top 5 after Anderson's demise, 65 mins! He does look a new player, bigger and less easy to get off the ball....but it's the mental thing now.
Overall...glad it doesn't mean anything....let's get this match out of the system and start playing!!!

Well I have been out and only caught the last 15mins,clearly didn't miss much.

PS Oranje I got a stream on wiziwig.tv which was good and came on in seconds on my google chromebook. Try wiziwig in future I think I got streams through them every game last season and they always have several streams to try.

@SPL - I tried multiple links from wiziwig and they were either the wrong match or gave me the same problems as Sopcast did. Maybe there was just too much Internet traffic in my area today.

@ Orange 14 sorry I was no help. Wiziwig always worked for me. Better luck next week. Sky 5 sport does not start until 12 August so after that Ajax will either be live or probably showed later on the day. Sky 5 only has Dutch and Spanish games so I hope to see Ajax on TV alot.After all Ajax is Dutch football as far as the world is concerned.

@SPL - not a problem; this was the first time in several years where all the streams were bad. ESPN3 will likely carry many Ajax matches and those work nicely. There is also an online company called livesport.tv that streams original content for a price. They say they have the Internet rights from the providers based on geographic area. I think the price is not too high and I may give them a try.
