Huh. There's a pub in Amsterdam called t' Arendsnest... I always thought THAT meant eagle's nest. What does it mean???

It's actually almost the same. "Nest" in Dutch is in English also a nest, the cradle for young birds in general; a "horst" is a nest as well, but specificly for birds of prey; like an eagle. So both the pub and the stadium have practically the same meaning.

Hi Tom....t'Arendsnest, a truly fantastic Beer Cafe.....it's just the name of the owner, Peter van der Arend, a great guy who started off trawling the bars of Amsterdam while promoting Jopen brewery. His interest in REAL beer grew so much that he eventually realised his dream and opened up a traditional bar in Herengracht . I must admit that I have spent many hours there...the draw to Amsterdam being great both for football and beer...the latter being compensation for any weaknesses at the Arena!!

It's a great place to go after either a Sunday match or a late Saturday game...just hope that I get the chance to go back there again this season!!

Yeah, it's a real winner! They've also got some nice Jenever to finish off the evening after you've tried all the beers ;)

I guess FdB is going with a one winger - two striker front line. We'll see how this bit of strategy turns out.

NEC helped us out by gaining a 1-1 draw with Vitesse -- so a win puts us clear at the top. Let's not take it for granted -- bear down and get the win.

It was a pretty exciting finish -- both teams had several chances to win it in the dying minutes -- in the end, NEC held on by the skin of their teeth.

Siggie missed a golden chance - shot straight at the keeper. Had Bojan to lay it off to on the left as well.

Replay showed that he got kicked right on his mouth by a GAE defender before he took the shot.

16 minutes over and we've already created a hatful of chances inside the box. Nothing to show for it yet.

Hope this isn't going to turn into one of those snakebite days...

A very disappointing half of football -- this lineup just isn't clicking -- hope he makes some changes at the half to improve things.

De Sa is bringing width but not much of anything else. I see Fisher for De Sa in the near future.

Very boring and poor first half. No width on the left as Bojan really wants to be in the middle rather than on the wing. de Sa should have done better on his chance. Defensively somewhat poor but a couple of good plays from Veltman. Blind is looking good.

Frustrating half as we had the most possession and the ball was in their half a lot more. Hope its not going to be the same in the 2nd half. We have to win games like this. still prefer Fischer on and Hoesen for Siggy.

PS Hope Ko got a stream ok livetv .ru has its first listed stream in Polish but a good picture ! I will have to tell my Polish neighbours that I watched Dutch football in Polish ! She will think I am mad but will be too polite to say . He supports Chelski for his sins so I wont take any insults from him.

I dont like Bojan in the team full stop. There is absolutely no place for him in the starting 11. On the left we have Fischer and the up and coming Kishna. On the right we have Schone, de Sa and the up and coming de Bondt. the striker position entails Siggy, Hoesen and the injured Siem de Jong. In attacking midfield its Serero and Klaassen and their deputies Duarte and Lucas Andersen.

We weren't THAT bad. It's a bit of a cabbage field and we made a few chances, pretty sure we'll get a goal or two. Two points clear of Chelsea B would be nice!

Don't know why he isn't taking Siggi off -- the guile and speed of a lumber truck -- touch is poor as is his passing.
