Okay, so, last week Ajax were piss-poor but got away with it. Now it's time to start winning again. Ajax vs Vitesse is a top fixture. Ajax share the #1 position with Twente and AZ (19 points each), Vitesse are only one point behind. They're good. This won't be easy, but there are no excuses now. Time to start winning some football matches.

Moisander and Duarte are both still not fit , I would not expect to see them again until after the Internationals break.Bojan is returning to full training next week which is good news.

de Sa is also not on the team sheet so he must still be injured. It's a pretty sketchy selection given the midfield problems. I find it interesting that FdB has taken de Jong off in each of the last two matches. Maybe he finally realizes that he's a liability in the midfield. I guess I would like to see Poulsen/Blind, Fischer, and Schöne start in the midfield tomorrow with Sana, de Jong, and Andersen up front.

Sana was pretty poor for Jong Ajax the other night but I agree de Jong should start as striker

In UK at the moment....back for 2 weeks....looking forwards to this game, just hope that it's not a damp squid!!!! They cannot play as badly as last week...but Vitesse lost as well....both need to win, badly!!! I fear that it's got 0-0 written all over it....or are we going to have a goal feast?

One thing's for sure....we're not going to move up 2 places with a goaless draw...go 4-4-2 with Hoeson & De Jong up front....

Fourth game in a row that starts in the wee hours of the morning here, so once again I'll read about it and rejoice (or weep) the next day. This scheduling crap has got to stop -- why are they doing this week after week.

Because they play Champion's League. So don't worry, it shouldn't last too long now...

I have thought about this as well. I know it's convenient to play with one system, but is it really covered in stone that we have to play with one strike in every game? It might be wise to alternate the formation a bit more. Last week against rkc two strikers could have created some more chaos to the rkc defence and there for there could have been more space for the wingers or attackin maidfielders to exploit. A lonesome striker has to win crosses 100% if he want to get a shot on goal. If there would be a second striker it would be enough to win it for the striker partner. Maybe this is worth considering at least against some teams. Maybe De jong could fit to the line better if we would have two strikers.

Same crappy lineup that's been starting most of our matches. No surprise here. I'm hoping for a 1-0 win.

What is the line up?

Vitesse currently playing more like Ajax than the ones playing in the Ajax jersey.

They are pressing us all over the field and giving us no time. Our players don't seem to know how to work around that.

Our passing game is way too slow, predictable and inaccurate.

I almost want us to consede a goal, maybe that would wake up this bunch of lazy fuc*ers.

Vitesse look to be tiring after pressing us for nearly 40 minutes. Lets get a quick goal here please.

All I can say its a bit better than the rubbish last week v RKC . Only a little better.

Really difficult first half; a lot of struggling just to maintain possession of the ball. Too many players just cannot control the ball at all (Andersen, Serero, Sigtorrson, de Jong). Poulsen has been the best player out there, nicely clearing the line on what should have been a sure goal for Vitesse. I really don't know what options FdB has right now. Maybe Schöne is healthy enough to slot into the midfield and de Jong moves up with Sigthorrson coming off. Defensively the team was OK, a couple of nice plays by Veltman and no major brain farts. Someone is going to win 1-0 and it's not at all clear which team that will be.

well, that's now 135 min in a row of not scoring in the Arena in the eredivisie. I wonder how much more we will have to wait. Might be long with way we are playing.
