Look on the bright side, despite the poor performance in the last game, atleast we can see the major errors now rather than later, so Frank de Boer can start making changes e.g. play Blind instead of poulsen, Serero instead of Schone, Klassen instead of Sigthorsson (I WISH). You get the picture

I agree with Blind instead of Poulsen, but Klassen instead of Sigthorsson!!! OK, Siggy can't even hold a pint of beer without spilling it, but he has put the ball in the net!! I think that it's Fischer who needs a break to get some confidence. Maybe we'll need him, and some other play-maker, cos the way that Eriksen is playing, he'll be sorely missed if he goes. There's still 6 days left until deadline day....FDB has got some sorting out to do!!

I'm a Sigthórsson fan. Especially now that he has started scoring.

Denswill and Klaassen waiting to make their debuts this season. Since De jong is injured and Toby to leave it seems Moisander is going to wear the captains band. If so, it's a proud moment for us Finnish Ajax fans.

We'd better win this one for confidence sake at least.

Someone has to step up and lead the attack (hopefully not Moisander).

I want to see Klaassen to start along side Serero in midfield and Blind instead of Poulsen. I also want to see Denswil come on as a sub.

I think Daley Blind is out with a groin injury?

Schöne scores from nothing... we look pretty lame, although Groningen are solid in defense.

This is not an enjoyable game of football. Horribly slow passing and no-one free off the ball, although Groningen are doing a good job of breaking up our passing in midfield. I think we scored from the only shot of the game so far. We are going to need to do something about our midfield because we're going to be playing against better teams than Groningen this season!

Since we have been conceding too many goals at away games I guess FdB wanted to focus on defence. We didn't allow Groningen to get too many chances, but then again didn't create chances ourselves. I think the goal by Schöne was the only shot on goal (and even that was from great distance).

Comfortable first half, but very conscious that Siggy has hardly had a look in....maybe give Klassen a run out after 60 mins, if we're still one up?

Agree our only shot was a goal at least we have not given away a silly goal as yet .

The only good thing that can be said about this half of football is that we are up 0-1. Terrible entry passes into the midfield, too weak and the receiving players are doing a poor job of shielding off the defender. Bizot maybe should have saved Schöne's shot, hard to tell from the computer replay. Denswil is really good on the ball but hasn't been challenged to defend all that much. Boilesen finally looks match fit. Poulsen is just getting slower and slower, I don't know what the other option is at this point in time. We need to find a way to get the wingers involved more and stop with the despairing long passes into the box which just are not working.

The level of play is like watching a high school game. And slowing down to that pitty pat game gave Groningen all the momentum in the last 15 minutes. I hope we can hold on to the 1 goal lead, but I'm not sure we will do it.
