I still remember when van Basten was manager and the match was played in a cold rain. Club was totally outplayed losing 5-2. Roy Beerens ran rings around our defenders.

Looking forward to this one....can actually watch it at home on internet!! Yes, it's taken four bloody weeks to get it in my apartment!!!
After last week's win against Fword it'll be nice to get a game where we play well for the whole game!!!

Tricky one, but if we get the first goal, should be plain sailing...it'll be nice to see the team relax and play as they are capable!!!

Should be a good matchup. De Boer will no doubt emphasize the importance of this match to his players as both teams have 6 pts out of the 3 matches played so far.
Heerenveen, with van Basten at the helm did not really add much in the off season, or loose much. They have the current Eredivisie top scorer in Finnbogason who is very good CF and kinda surprised they were able to keep hold of him.

Mitchell Dijks is on loan to Heerenveen, perhaps my favorite young player, but in their first match of the season received a red card, looks like he had a 2 match ban because of that but is eligible for this match. Dijks is big - 1.93 m - fast and talented but was 3rd choice behind Blind and Boilesen at LB. I kind of fancied him at CB or DM so hope he gets plenty of matches this season to show his worth to De Boer.

An important match. Boilesen may get the start due to Blind being slightly injured.

I'm ready for this one now....got live coverage, now me fellow countrymen have decided that 4 weeks is long enough for me to frequent Internet Cafes every night !!!

Looking forward to seeing a bit more fluency in the play...they got away with it on Sunday, first half being good, but they need to keep that up for 90 minutes!!!

I know they both came from set pieces, but our MF is looking good today. Dragging the Heerenveen defence out of position again and again.

Poulsen goes to sleep. That guy who scored was standing by himself unmarked for a good 5-10 seconds.

Agreed - only lively one on the field so far for me is Boilesen. Everyone else is just playing terrible.

Their first goal was offside and probably the second also but that doesn't mean we can play so badly - creating no chances except corners.

after those 2 early goals we have been rubbish .

We started so well, one defensive mistake to let them back in then we crumbled.

That was about as poor a half as I've seen in a while. Lucky to even have the two goals because of poor goal keeping. Poulsen at fault on the third goal and just all around poor defensive play after going up 2-0. Why can't we have a striker like Finnbogasson?
