Brain failures by Vermeer and van Rhijn and we are quite fortunate not to be down by 2-0. We are too content to play defensively rather than opening up the Steaua defense which looks to be quite porous. I really don't want to see this go into extra time given our thin squad.

How many goals have we given up that route this season? High ball over the defense behind our RB/LB.

C'mon. Just start playing and score 1-2 goals. That should be enough.

Well that was a very poor first half to say at least. We are much too slow when in possesion as Steaua are positioned well at the back. Did not get penalised for Vermer's mistake but but van Rhijn made up for it falling asleep for a moment. Our wingers are not tracking their man either as we have problrms with they fullback overlaping.
Hoping for a much better second half.

Not confident we will get through at this moment .Bit of a shambles to let them score and we must watch that overlapping left back of theirs.

Incidently I did start watching on sopcast ,first time since about November I got sopcast but after 10 mins it froze again so its back to firstrow which is a bit jerky on full screen but its in english and does not freeze up like sopcast .Famous last words !!

The fact is that we don't even have to play that great to get through. We just have to score that one away goal. That should be enough. Sparta Praha lead 0-1 againts Chelsea. Praha would be easier at leat on paper. Then again you dont know is Chelsea really in it to win it.

They've had 3 shots from this situation. Ball gets cleared from a cross onto a Steaua player waiting for it.

No Ajax player there to clear the ball.

Well this was the worst result, going into extra time. Just a terrible match except for the last 10 minutes of regular time when they finally decided to play some offense. What was the game plan for this match? It looked like we were content to sit back and defend which was a very poor decision. Poor play all around!

Staying back all the game long is a bad decision. We must first score and the be patient. Not vice a versa.

Chelsea win with a goal in added time! We need to figure out how to break Steaua down and get the away goal!

Can't believe we screwed up a two goal lead. I know the European league doesn't really matter, but still it would be irritating/embarrassing to lose now to a team that should be inferior.

Vermeer is strong in saving penalties if we are going to that. This game will ware us out, so lets make it count for something and go through!!!
