First league game of 2013...

Eredivisie 2012-2013. Matchday 19. Kick-off time at the ArenA is 14:30 CET.

Ajax and Feyenoord both have 37 points (out of 18 matches). Ajax's goal-differential is a bit better, so Ajax are 3rd and Feyenoord 4th. Both teams are three points behind PSV and Twente, so both sides are very much in the race. Ajax must make the difference in this game. It's a must-win, for several reasons.

Edit: Mind you, the kick-off time for this fixture has been changed twice now. Ajax.nl now reports that it will be 14:30 CET.

It's been a while since we've beaten these turkeys hasn't it? I seem to remember a 2–0 at home about two years ago. Anyway I'll be in the ArenA for this one, so I expect the boys to pull out all the stops. 3–1 should be about right ;)

PSV lost to Zwolle -- if Twente lose and we win it means a three way tie for the top. Let's at least do our part to see that it happens.

Lots of possession and a 1-0 win would be good.

For 6 minutes Feyenoord looked the far more dangerous -- then a lightning counterattack and Fischer cooly rounds the goalie to put us up 1 - 0

Hell yes! Great goal, great action. This could turn out to be a classic klassieker!

Eriksen has really annoyed me this season -- that blown goal chance is so typical.

Better extend Fischer's contract ASAP!

Fischer again -- I was just going to comment on what a fine game he was having when took the ball away from the defender and scored from a difficult angle. Justification for the chances we missed and the 12th man we have been playing against all half.

Fischer is fantastic but I'm a little dissapointed with Eriksen's lack of effort. Not really much of factor that much. Also Boerrigter has been a little mediocre. But other than that, all going well so far.

Two very well taken goals by Fischer and Vermeer saving the bacon on a mental lapse after the first one. Good play all around by Ajax thus far and the quickness in the midfield is especially telling. I thought the Yellow card on van Rhijn was a little weak but this is the Eredivisie after all and you don't get away with stuff as you would in England. Good keeping by Mulder on the other end kept out a couple of chances. Team needs to keep up the pressure in the second half and stay strong on defense (Poulsen is having another strong game in the middle).

2 superbly taken goals from Fischer and he should have scored a 3rd. Eriksen also should have scored when through on his own . Keep this up in the 2nd half.

And we are going well into 2013

Eriksen can be so quiet during a match and then comes up with a sublime free kick!

From the replay it sure looks like Boetius took a dive. Hard to see any contact at all but van Rhijn knew he was taking a chance! Nice save by Vermeer.

Like I said above -- we have been playing against 12 men all game -- no surprise he found an excuse to give his boys a leg up. Let's hold on and shove it down his throat.
