Less than eleven days after the cup game in Utrecht the ever-frustrated little gang from down the road visits the ArenA.

Another 12:30 kick-off, unfortunately.

Let's hope Ajax will be as good as they were in Utrecht, last week.

Utrecht fans have just been banned from the game, due to the irregularities during last week's cup game.

Drats! Stepped away for 1 minute and missed the goal.

We really should be up on this club as they only can play rugby style football and have no finesse at all. Trouble is that everyone is too slow on the ball. The few times we make quick passes Utrecht get horribly exposed. Sana should have done better with the chance at the end of the half and Vermeer got really lucky when the shot just grazed the post shortly after that (Blind was at fault for letting his man go on that one). I cannot see Utrecht changing their game plan of roughing up our players every time they receive the ball and it's going to more important not to sit on it. The Utrecht pressure is pretty lame because they lack the quickness. We'll see what kind of changes FdB makes but we really need to utilize our speed and quickness. Don't try the cross field passes as it just gives the Utrecht defenders time to catch up.

Well Utrecht don't look up to much. Some good chances to make it 2–0, hopefully we'll get a couple more in the second half.

Eriksen is being marked tightly again and having one of his frustrating games, apart from that nice pass to Lukoki, but de Jong has been using the space well.

Agree with you about de Jong. He's finally moving around and getting into the open areas. Just make the passes more quickly and we'll be alright.

after the early goal thought we would get more. Sana should have scored though.


PS I am still moaning ,could not get the sopcast stream,firstrow has about 12 links some in english but none of them were clear in full screen so watched most of this half on a small
screen in english.Great relief now have MM6 working on sopcast,hope this means everything is back to normal.

When you miss so many good chances you start to worry that you are going to get snake bit. Another goal would make me feel a lot better.

We need to stop taking these horrible short corners. The ball went from the corner flag back all the way to Vermeer in under 10 seconds. WTF??

C'mon Eriksen - you at least have to hit the target with that. Great move started from the right by Babel though.

Wow, great play to set up Eriksen from Babel and de Jong. We aren't playing well but have had some really good chances in this game, we could be winning 3–0.

Eriksen just hasn't been altogether there for the entire game. Didn't surprise me that he blew it.

Wow that could've so easily been the end for us. Funnily enough - we only have 10 minutes left and I don't think our boys want this enough. I haven't seen the will to win all game. It's like they're on auto-pilot.

Well that was pretty crap

Even De Jong perfrormed better today than Sana and Eriksen. Why wasn't Sana taken off when he was clearly doing nothing all the game long? De Boer needs to more determined with his decisions. It looks like our manager is unable to adapt during the matches.

If I remember correctly our record against utrecht in the last five league games is 4 losses and this tie. It's uncanny. Why we have some much difficulty to adapt to their rugby style of football?

well at least Vermeer must be relieved that this time the howler against Utrecht was not his fault , (he let in 4 howlers in 2 games last season and cost 6 points ),but he was very good again today . How Eriksen missed that chance but after that I just knew this was going to be a draw . Babel was my MOM defence ok but still think our midfield is our weakness.

At least Sana was taking shots and running at people. Eriksen, for me, is an example of the typical Arsenal player. Skillful, perhaps, but no fire in the belly -- no ability to dig deep and produce when the situation is critical. I have no idea why he's even in the lineup. I wish we had a player like Mulenga on our team (at least if he always plays the way he did today) -- we are just too lightweight and get pushed around too easy all over the pitch.
