Another sold out home game, against an opponent that collapsed completely after the winter break: Groningen won only two out of their last twelve matches. Coach is under pressure, fans are grumbling, they really have a stinker this season.

Come on, Ajax. Stay focused and do the job. Almost there.

Only if there wil be 4 or more points gap between us and a closest team/s below.

In a word yes.
Win v Groningen lose to Twente and win v VVV will be enough .We will then have 70 points and only AZ and FW can get to 70 but play each other when we play Twente
and have alot worse GD .

We seem only to have trouble with them at Groningen but one thing above all, focus only on this match and only after it is finished think about the next one.

I think Frank has been pretty good in his short career at Ajax at getting the club to focus when they've had to. I expect them to do the same on Sunday.

Overconfidence will be our biggest enemy. Our close rivals all have 'easy' games that they should win handily, so we absolutely have to get the job done on this one.

Looks like Sig is getting ready. IMO we need to get Ozbiliz on the right wing -- assuming he's healthy.

Lucky break there at half time but we were on top. We look OK, but not creating many chances. Aissati's passing has been pretty awful.

70% possession and we only get a garbage goal in stoppage time to go ahead 1-0. We seem to be moving the ball well enough but the crosses for the most part have been a little off. Eriksen had the one good breakaway but was stopped twice by good plays from the Groningen keeper and the player that cleared the ball off the line. Groningen will now have to move away from their 10 behind the ball approach and take some more chances if they want to get on the scoreboard. I'm still not liking Janssen today because he's just standing around not creating any space. I think Anita only made one bad pass all half.

We needed this goal... Ajax started to look desperate and Groningen easily stood tall.

just thinking not a great half then a goal out of nothing . Not many chances created. Sigy needs to come on and Aissati is not effective . de Jong did nothing until the pass for the goal. Now a quick second to finish it !

He had one really great cross that just missed de Jong and Boerrigter; don't think you can ignore that one.

Yeah, agreed, and I spose you can't really blame him if there's no one in the box to pass it to. He's lost the ball a few times if I recall correctly, but my internet connection here is ridiculously slow so it's sometimes hard to tell who's who...

I'd like to see v Rijhn and Ozbiliz come on right about now.

Why take off Aissati and not useless Janssen? FdB get your head in the match!

Taking off my MOTM for Enoh? Why not take off Janssen? One good pass does not a game make!
