Ajax fly to Brazil on Saturday 07 January for a training camp.

The climax of the trip is a Saturday 14 January friendly game against SE Palmeiras, at their Estádio de Pacaembu in São Paulo.

Kick-off time? It says 20:00 on the Ajax website, but 17:00 on the Palmeiras website, which is odd, given the fact that the time difference is considerably more than six hours. I'm not sure. I do know that the game will be shown in Holland on Eredivisie Live, perhaps delayed, starting at 20:00 CET...? I don't know.

Nice friendly, this. Cool. Palmeiras are pretty massive in Brazil. Here's their page on Wikipedia.

Notes: Boilesen and Sigthorsson, as previously announced, are left home to better recover from their injuries.
Some youngsters remain at A'dam, too: Koppers, Lukoki and Rits.
Klaassen, Ligeon, van Rhjin and newcomer Bouy are all in!
I think that with all this rookies coming in, we can survive to the transfermarket and also to some contracts expirings. Only one figure is not easy to replace with our youth ranks, and he is Vertonghen (let's hope in the Chivu thing)

I read and posted on the Almere game before seeing OG's list and comments .

Just to repeat that Koppers is injured and thats why he is not going .

The game is on dutch TV so we should get a stream to watch it

Danny Blind is in Brazil.I assume he may be assisting FDB as Bergkamp wont be there due to not flying. Blind surely has enough work talking to the agents of all those kids who are yet to extend and was talking last week of going to Copenhagen to talk to Boilesen's dad and agent .I suppose a nice week in Brazil counts as a bit of a holiday for him!!

A poor game by us. The only real opportunity for us was missed by De Jong. And that goal in the dying minutes is just bad.

Par for the course. I only saw the 2nd half. Serrero had a chance but he's too slow to get the shot off. Glad to see Big Phil managing Palmeiras.

just about summed it up . de Jong had an easy chance early on and about the only good chance they had was the goal which was the last action of the match .Very poor of Ajax to let that goal in .Not a great game though but it was a friendly and we did use 21 players.

Was impressed with Ouasim Bouy , a lovely left footed kid who impressed me more than Janssen . Lodeiro ,who played as a left winger in the first half should play at his natural left midfield instead of Janssen imo when the season restarts this week. And Bulykin should play as a striker ,not that he is great, but simply de Jong is not a striker.

Bouy played really well. I would start Ajax-AZ with Davey Klaassen, Quasim Bouy and Theo Janssen on the midfield. As an experiment I would like to see Eriksen as a striker and Boerrigter and Sulejmani on the wings. In my opinion Siem de Jong is our guy number 12, I prefer him as a super sub.
