Seems heavily skewed in Ajax's favour despite this being a neutral game on our home turf.

If Ruiz, W. Janssen and Chadli don't play, I reckon Ajax should win easily but with Co in charge, he more than anyone will know how to beat us.

Co does not have a fantastic track record against Ajax... but on the other hand, that doesn't say anything. Co is a good coach and he can analyze every opponent very well, whether its Ajax or another team.

Ajax and Twente are both in the warm-up period for the season, so I don't think that both teams can make conclusions about this game. I've read that Ruiz is going to be fit for this game.

Vertonghen doesn't play out of precaution, not totally fit. Steek is flying to Rome tonight (source: NOS, De Boer @ press conference) so won't be playing as well. According to De Boer the paper work for Serero is not complete, still uncertain if he'll be eligible for tomorrow's match. De Boer calls it 'sloppy'.

Is jan availaible for this match? I saw something in dutch on twitter whch I udnerstood as him being

No Jan, but Serero got the stamps and seals and signatures.

Is this, with Blind swapped out for Vertonghen when fit, our preferred starting XI going into the season? On another thread folks were certain I was crazy for suggesting de jong would start in midfield....

We were a bit unlucky not to have scored in the early going. Midfield is active and chances are being created but we need to get a little more ruthless on the finishing. Poor defending conceding an overlap lead to Janssen's foul in the box. I would have liked to see a closer replay to see if he really pulled de Jong down or whether it was a dive but that's the way things go. Other than that we look decent on defense. I'm pleased to see how much Sigthorsson is moving around up front. I am not convinced that we can go without a defensive midfielder. Brama has done a good job on Eriksen keeping him out of the offensive pattern.
