Tough one...

Would imagine Jol will pick a strong team but I would hope Toby and Eriksen both start , Sulejmani instead of Urby, Blind at full back(Jol may not rate him but he and Jozefzoon have been picked for the Dutch U 21 squad) plus Jozefzoon, Bonevacia and why not play V Rhijn at right back .And because this is a cup game against moderate opposition why not do what Wenger would do ie as a sub pick Bouy or Klaassen .Both are 17 with big talent .

I imagine Tainio , Atouba, Donald and Oleguer along with Ooijer and Urby will probably get games but they wont be here next season.

A very stormy and rainy evening in Amsterdam.

Glad I'm not at the ArenA, but at home, in front of the telly with a plate of hot food in my lap.

What's the need to play Suarez here? Luis looked frustrated and unable to control himself for the last two games.Probably Jol just wants him to get back on track.

I'm so proud!!!! We have kept Veendam at bay til half time. Zero zero.

Just pathetic once again. Of course our opponents will play like thugs and park everyone behind the ball. We have probably had 70% possession and no clue how to generate a shot on goal. Suarez has the best chance on a 30 meter free kick that hits the crossbar. Sulejmani only knows how to go to the left and try to cross. Emanuelson had a couple of good cuts to the middle but otherwise was unremarkable. It's hard to say anyone is playing well.

not very inspiring except Suarez free kick which hit the bar .2 defensive midfielders against a weaker team again . Would like to see Blind at left back and Jozefzoon in the second half and why oh why is Bonevacia not playing today ! Jol is taking no chances as defeat will be a big big problem for him , like
that would be his lot .

There was a reserve match against Man City and he played there along with Atouba and others.

Enoh is turning into a real liability these days. Terrible tackle from behind and deserved yellow card.

Every team we play seems to have a world class keeper. Two good chances one from Sulejmani and one from Suarez saved.

wtf?! Tainio and Ooijer? But why

3-0 final score but not a particularly well played match. Lots of possession but too much dribbling into the defense without a clue what to do when facing two defenders. This is a team that should have been put down in the first half. On to AZ in the weekend.

That was the only downside for me surely at 2-0 Jozefzoon and Blind could have been used!

Good point. Why the two old farts? I could not understand.

Anyway, after Thursday's last cup fixture the draw for the round of sixteen took place: Ajax are at home again, this time against AZ. Match date t.b.a.: 21/22/23 December.
