Just realized our old buddy Vito Wormgoor now plays at De Graafschap. I guess he has moved along from Utrecht.

Will be interesting to see how he has progressed in the last 2 years since he was let go by us.

I just checked and was able to see the NAC-VVV game. Promising... However, I don't see myself waking up at 3:30 in the morning to watch it. :-/ One of the best things about espn3 is that you can replay it after it's over...

Are you familiar with newsgroups (binaries)? Usually an Ajax game get recorded in HD and then put on a binaries server. I don't know about every single game, but Ajax-Kiev is avail for example. If one of you guys are interested, I can look up the particular newsgroup where the file is posted.

Thanks for the link. I just downloaded the client and I'll give it a try tomorrow AM. At least I'm on the east coast and the match starts at 6:30 our time.

Dear Ajax players,

I know it must be difficult...

You just beat Dynamo Kiev in front of 51,000 people at a roaring, sold-out ArenA, and after that there was the excitement of the Champions League draw: AC Milan! Real Madrid! Wow!

It must be really hard to leave all of that behind, travel to the great town of Doetinchem and focus on De Graafschap at the Vijverberg, probably in the pissing rain.

I understand that.

But please make sure you do it anyway. You know why? Here's why: if we want to feel the excitement of being in a Champions League draw more frequently, it really helps if we win the title here in good old Holland. That's where it all starts, you know, and the fact that our last Champions League draw was so long ago, has everything to do with the fact that we sometimes tend to take games like De Graafschap away not seriously. PSV will not drop many points this season, so every unnecessary draw (we've got one already, don't we?) and every unnecessary defeat can cost us very dearly.

The Dynamo Kiev game is now history; the Champions League group stage is not yet relevant, cos it's still in the future. Today there is only job to be done: to beat De Graafschap.

In a way, De Graafschap away is a Champions League qualifier. Think about it.

You can always quarrel about details, but this is pretty much our strongest team and ideal formation.

For some reason I expect Siem de Jong to score at least once today. I think he'll get loads of space today, and it's a special game for him, as he's originally from the Doetinchem area. It's called the Achterhoek and it's really beautiful over there (KJH is from the area, too).

PSV against Den Haag today will be without Toivonen and Engelaar... and Affelay of course. So they have to drop points today... i think

Around the wall --- according to the announcer, there was an Ajax player on the end of the wall who moved out of the way to let the ball go around.

DeG had a few good chances -- there was one goal-saving stop by Steks in particular, and a couple of other close ones. All in all, even though we are leading, the offence doesn't look very sharp. I hope we are more dominant in the 2nd half.

2nd half is awful so far -- they are all over us -- we can't put two passes together -- something has to change.
