First league game of the new season!

Not an easy start to the season but its going to be interesting to see el hamdoui from the start

if we learned anything from last year then we must be sure to grab 3 points from these games. cause the top teams dont spill points easily

without suarez, without sulejmani, i read also without vertonghen, maybe lindgren and/or enoh, and pretty sure without new signings. hard enough.

there are some surprises in tomorrow squad. a few names? jozefzoon, kappelhof and bodul! I would never expected this.
donald and sarpong not called.
bonevacia and aissati confirmed.
as we all now, no suarez and vertonghen (suspended), lindgren, enoh, lodeiro and obviously atouba (injured)

You may have to check back tomorrow. Last year all the matches were on NVS1, but I forget which channel number that is. One other point, I hope this team learns from the bonehead actions of Suarez and Vertonghen. It's inexcusable for two of our starters to miss the first league matches because of stupidity!!! I'll gladly settle for a 1-0 win tomorrow.

So: Oleguer replacing Vertonghen (who is suspended). That makes sense.

Siem de Jong will play a bit more defensively than he normally would. A bit more 'control' in midfield is what Jol wants. That makes sense, too.

Aissati on the right: that doesn't really make sense to me, but apparently he's done well on the right for Young Ajax in pre-season and we don't really have options, now that Rommedahl and Kennedy are gone. So, let's see what happens.

Given the circumstances (Vertonghen and Suárez suspended, Enoh and Lindgren injured) this is the best thing we can do.

The bench is very 'De Toekomst': Vermeer, Blind, Zeegelaar, Bonevacia, Kappelhof, Jozefzoon, Bodul. Oh dear.

Yep I switched too, not enough peers on the highest one I guess.

Groningen are quite hard to break down with their two defensive midfielders... they're just sitting back and trying to hit on the counter.
