No Vertonghen Toby or Demy .Gabri is fit for midfield but Jol has indicated Wielaert wont be considered.

Oleguer wil play with either Anita or V d Wiel as CB , Urby could play left back . He may consider Ogararu
with Urby as an attacker but that appears unlikely .

If we were going to have to miss both Toby and Jan I quess RKC is the best game.

Both were lucky not to get reds . I read today that KNVB believe Jan should have got a red and Toby thought he was a little lucky I believe. Overall I think we were lucky as we could not face 3 games without these 2.

The KNVB is a real bunch of clowns. You can get a red card if you "deny the opposing team a goal or an obvious goal-scoring opportunity by deliberately handling the ball". Well, that's what the FIFA says anyway, but maybe here in Holland there are different rules? If so, I'm afraid we'll have to buy players with no arms...

That said, that was the third goal in a row that is conceded because of Vertonghen's poor performance in the air...

SPL - do you think Van Der Meulen has enough skills/size to play CB for this game? Is he even being considered?

The question is whether he is a proper center back. I don't think he plays there on the Belgian NT does he? I know originally he came up as a holding midfielder and move to fullback a little over a year ago. I guess we really don't have any other options there these days.

V d Meulen has not played that much for Jong and Ajax were loaning him out to Haarlem. He has a contract for next season so I quess Ajax had enough confidence in him but it is impossible to see which Jong players if any are on the radar of the first team .One of our Dutch pals will be able to tell us more .
The other CD Kappelhof has made a lot more Jong appearances but he only has a 1 year contract . Both should have been playing regular to see if they have it in them to make it but Wielaert gets picked .

It would really be good if just one of the 6 Jong defenders were good enough to be a first team squad player next season!!! Not putting any money on it but again lets hear from the experts ie you local guys .

What about playing a 3-5-3 with two holding midfielders who drop back and cover the flanks? We could use Gabri and Urby for this with Enoh in the middle. I don't know how dangerous RKC is on the attack but this could be one option. Our local club DC United has played this formation with varying degrees of success over the past five years. It does put more pressure on the lone central defender, Oleguer in this case.

Few defenses conceded only one goal to P$V this season.

I just read that Kappelhof is training with the firsts. Mind last week Danilo and Will trained also .

Where did you read that about Kappelhof SPL?

Ajaxlife.nl reports that Kappelhof did join the first squad training today and he even got a green jersey alongside with Oleguer. I don't know what that means, but it could be that Jol considers Kappelhof. But I don't think that it's wise to let Kappelhof start against RKC. RKC is at the bottom of the table, and they are virtually relegated. And when a team is almost dead and burried, they can do some strange stuff. They don't have stress about conceding goals, because it doesn't matter anymore. This game requires experienced players.

Would be nice to see a youngster make his debut! That's Ajax.

Ajaxlife ran the story and they said last week that Will and Danilo trained for the first .It could well be these are the Jong players that Jol wants to look at training at first team level .

VD Wiel - Kappelhof - Oleguer - Anita --- everyone is playing in a position they are comfortable with

than
VD Wiel - Oleguer - Anita - Emanuelson OR Ogararu - VD Wiel - Oleguer - Anita


VD Wiel sucks at CB and Anita is too short at CB. Just my 2 cents

Good news about Kappelhof , still only 19 and a local lad. Of the Jong players whose contracts run out in June I think we can safely assume he will get an extension.
