I believe in Ajax!
we have shown in the past that we are not trustworthy often! But that can happen the other way around, especially with opponents such as the hated italians... So we better go down or through fighting and not like PUNKS, as Samuel L. Jackson once said
May the Force be with you

The choice of a starting lineup should prove quite interesting for Jol. He needs for the team to come out attacking and concentrate on getting a quick early goal if at all possible. I was not impressed with Juventus team speed last week but since they only have to play for a draw, they can park everyone behind the ball. Suarez is out and who do we start up front? I was surprised that Sulejmani didn't see any action at all yesterday since he looked pretty good on Thursday. Do we dare couple Pantelic with Miki and Eriksen? Does Suk get a run on to see what he can do as Striker. de Jong obviously gets the start as attacking midfielder and I assume that de Zeeuw and Enoh will also start.

It's a kind of throw away match (though I would like to see them win) for Jol to experiment.
Appie Nouri will forever be remembered for his grace and humanity on and off the pitch!

I see no reason to leave Eriksen on the bench for this - I really liked what I saw from him in the last game. I'd also like to see Suk and Lodeiro get some play.

Match is also live on GolTV here in the States. I'll still have to watch via the Internet from work.

Good news about GolTV at least, I was hoping the first leg would be shown, but it wasn't.

I just read that Suarez will make the trip to Turin, home of the vicious old woman, so I immediately placed a bet on Ajax. :poketoungeb.gif:

Oleguer Gabri and Lindgren are all likely to be fit so the only player not available is Suarez.

This one's not on any tv channels in Belgium.

Can people do me a favour and post some sites where I can see this on my pc (round kick off time)?

Thanks in advance...

Same in FRance : nothing on TV here.
Prediction : half-time 1-1, final score 1-2 for Ajax, after extra-time 1-2, Ajax wins on penalty spot kicks 4-2 !

I watched the first leg on ESPN here in the U.K. and I have to say it was the most depressing Ajax game I have seen in a very long time. This is the worst Juventus team for 80 years, with a tactically inept coach, and we still couldn't beat them.

Juve started the game with (an aging) three at the back, and Ajax didn't have the nouse to play the ball wide into the channels to stretch the defense. Then at half-time Juve changed the system and the opportunity was gone.

I would love to see Ajax go through, because this Juve is a shite team, but I can't see it happening.

Also I can't see my wife and kids allowing me to watch this one on ITV4, after I subjected them to that drivel last week.

Manneken Pis.

I wont be watching on the internet but on Tv which will be a novelty.

If you have sopcast downloaded NVS are the dutch internet stream and they have shown nearly every game . A couple of times I had trouble but sopcast shows all our games .

Best thing is because this game is not a league game then myp2p will be supplying streams. Last week there must have been over a dozen . Some were on sopcast and others just required you to have windows media. So just look up myp2p and you should be ok .

Purple Cow .
You have got to put your foot down . My wifes reponse They are not on again ! Thats when she thought I would be on the computer watching them. I waited until she was in a good mood to tell her I am watching it on ITV4 , downstairs on the main tv . You have got to be firm mate.
Tell her this is not ordinary football but Ajax a very special beautiful little Dutch club. Simply the most important football club on the planet .

From La Gazetta, a piece of calcio philosophy :
CHIELLINI SPEAKS — The Bianconero defender is ready to play, he doesn't mind whether it's in a 3- or 4-man defensive line. The aim is not to concede more goals. "I don't like conceding at least one goal a game, our strength has always been our defence. We're trying to work every day on eliminating even the smallest defects. Our aim is to get back to not conceding goals. It's annoying that we always have to score 2 goals to win."

Buffon injured... That's a very, very good thing. I don't follow the Serie A, but I've been told that the second goalie (Manninger?) is a bit of a tit.

Ajax have confidence, they're on a high and the past weeks have made clear that Ajax don't depend entirely on Suárez (he was definitely not the star in recent games).

Juventus concede goals in Turin. Their defense is a problem. And their confidence is a bit fragile. If we take the lead, they might panic.

You know, they won 1-2 in Amsterdam, but it wasn't like the other games against Milan, Inter and Juve in recent history. In those games, Ajax had lots of possession, but they hardly created anything, the Italians were in complete control and things went exactly they way wanted. In most of those games you got the feeling that Ajax could have played on for a week without ever scoring a goal.

Last week's game at the ArenA was different. Ajax did get chances, Juve were not in complete control and Ajax were actually pretty unfortunate (woodwork, penno not given). This Juve team is not capable of imposing its will on an opponent. They can not comfortably lean back, knowing that the defense will never collapse.

Don't get me wrong: I'm not saying that Ajax will make it (we probably won't), all I'm saying is that this ain't over just yet.

Come on Ajax!

AFAIK, they don't; I have GolTV (but unfortunately am at work today!) and it's a regular digital channel but of very high quality. Fox Soccer Channel does, but Verizon FIOS in the DC area doesn't carry the HD line yet.

Same here. The one day that Gol TV is showing an Ajax match, I'm stuck at work.

Time Warner doesn't carry the HD FSC either.

In italy the game goes on the clear channel "italia 1" (yes, one of the tv's of our prime minister, but this is another story) but fairly I don't know if it's reachable by some satellite. hope this helps.
as for the game is concerned, I am with Ko in his presentation. we did seem alive and playing not only good, but also imposing football. what we miss is luck (penalty, crossbar by de jong) and experience. I would have loved seen suarez making shit of cannavaro, who is crap like never before. but that's life. manninger is not so bad, honestly, but is not buffon. and they should fear us if we score as soon as possibile. juventus is a team with problems, zaccheroni is doing a good job but is going against his ideas to save the boat: he likes dutch football and ajax in particular (for this reason is one of the few italian coaches I esteem), but plays 5 defenders.
I don't think we'll do it, but I think we can make them panic.
and yes, juventus is the team I hate the most in the world, so come on guys. let me smile.
O tempora o mores

Starting 11 -

Stekelenburg
Van Der Wiel
Alderweireld
Oleguer
Vertonghen
De Zeeuw
Enoh
De Jong
Sulejmani
Pantelic
Eriksen

For some reason, I have a good feeling about this game. But again, Ajax doesn't really always care about what I feel :drecul.gif:
