There's one more game left to play in 2009: this upcoming Wednesday, WHC vs Ajax, in the 'Round of Sixteen' of the KNVB Cup...

Match to be played at Zwolle's Oosterenk Stadium. Kick-off time: 18.30 CET.

It keeps snowing, by the way. There's a thick layer of snow in Amsterdam and there was much more up north (I drove up on Friday). I wouldn't be surprised if this one gets called off, too. WHC are trying to find volunteers who can help to remove the snow from the pitch in Zwolle (match will be played there). But if it continues to snow like this for another day or so, I don't think this one will be played...

Yeah something like that. Snowed again today and I'm on the bus home from work-4.5 hours and counting in the lovely snow and ice.

He clearly does not rate Wielaert Lindgren Ogararu Sarpong as worthy of being subs!!!

to be honest im quite dissapointed with how things have turned out for sarpong.. thought he was going develope into a nice little player.. but meh.. Jol knows more than me i think..

but as for Wielaert and co. the sooner theyre gone the better..

Just about our strongest team , well not Kennedy, and a very one sided half even though we allowed them to score.

This looks like a training game why we cannot play Blind Donald deJong Anita and Vermeer all on the bench??

Just got home about 20 minutes ago. Have to feel sorry for their keeper. He's made some decent saves but nobody around to clear up the rebounds. Sulejmani looks good and maybe this is just the match he needed (though the competition is quite poor).

Up 1-14 now.

They were bad, really bad as the score says. Couldn't pass, dribble or defend at all, I hope they're part-timers. It was really just target practice for Ajax, seemed like they may have been getting out some frustration from the last few games too, even if it didn't take much effort. Suarez finished with 6.

Rather futile Kennedy2, De Zeeuw 1 and an og completed the scoring.

Why we did not play a really young team , with Castillion getting a game, I do not know but at least the locals got to see a full Ajax team.

In the end we could have scored 20 !!

For the record: this was Ajax's largest cup win ever. The old record was 10-0 against Rapiditas, back in 1961.

Largest ever win in the Eredivisie: 12-1 versus Vitesse (1972).

Largest ever win in Europe (and also the largest win in an official game): 14-0 against Red Boys Differdange (from Luxembourg) in 1985.
