We're halfway the Eredivisie season: 17 games played.

NAC Breda vs Ajax, on Sunday December 20th, is matchday 18 and the 'start of the second half'. We beat them 6-0 in Amsterdam, but they never roll over that easily in Breda.

I agree. I don't think we will lose, but I doubt we'll se another 6-0 victory. My bet is a 1-2 och 0-2 victory :)

10 out of 18 from our youth system. Seems a little odd with talk of Blind being sent off to Haarlem he is in the squad.It sums up what Jol must think of Wielaert ie utter crap.

On weds for the cup game I would hope Castillion and Eriksen are in the squad as both look as if they will be in the squad soon.

In our particular case the reason to call the match off was not the condition of the pitch (which is acceptable), but the condition of the roads to Breda and around the stadium. The cancellation has more to do with the fact that a journey to the stadium is a bit dangerous now, especially if 17,000 people try it at the same time.

Anyway, I guess that was 2009 then. We finished the year (and the decade, for that matter) with a 2-0 defeat at Utrecht and an absolutely scandalous non-performance against Anderlecht. How typical.

Roll on a new year and a new decade!

Edit: Haha, I totally forgot Wednesday's cup fixture at WHC... Typical. I totally forgot about that one. Good luck lads, I'll see you in 2010...

After Anderlecht probably good we are not playing today.

Nb We do have one more game the cup match on Weds v WHC -Wezup.18.30 CET A chance to give some kids a game!

Typical.....in Edinburgh at the moment...got myself fitted with a great link to the game..and a few of the local drinks! Still, might have to concentrate on the drink now!!!

We "only" had a 50 cm snowfall here in the Washington DC area yesterday!!! They haven't as yet cancelled the local American football matches but did delay the starting time for them by four hours. I was looking forward to the Ajax match today but will have to wait until the new year for the next one. Here is to a happy holiday season for all the Ajax fans and may 2010 bring better results!

New date for this fixture: January 17th 2010.

Which means that Ajax may have to change the dates for their trip to South Africa, or cancel it entirely.

We'll see what happens.

Correction: this is not confirmed just yet. Ajax don't want to re-schedule or cancel the South Africa thing, so they're asking the KNVB to find another date. If no alternative date can be found, the KNVB can force Jan 17 on Ajax. We'll just wat and see what happens, but Jan 17 is not 100% sure.

Edit: Now it's final. There were no other options. Sunday 17 January it is, kick-off time 14:30 CET.

I put the not picked in to show the 3 reserve defenders are not good enough to be subs.Would have thought at least Oleguer would be a sub.

Perhaps Lindgren will be the backline sub if needed. I think it was two years ago in the final match we had somebody out either on card suspension or hurt and Lindgren did a decent job as a central defender. I've always thought that he works quite hard but just doesn't have the necessary talent to move up to the next level.

Well the list I posted yesterday was stated to be the squad but I now see on the OS it has been altered. Donald is out and both Oleguer and Ogararu are in a squad of 19.I could not believe it yesterday when they announced no spare defenders.
